“the incident” on the night of feb 2009.
i remember when everyone was wondering why both,
rihanna and chris brown,
didn’t show up to the grammys.
we were left with little to no answers,
but a ton of rumors from folks in the industry started pouring out
the battered face of rihanna’s was released,
fans who immediately took chris side,
and a lot of victim blaming towards rihanna.
“she made him hit her!” – they said.
well he has come clean on his version of what happened “that night”.
in his documentary,
“chris brown: welcome to my life”,
he shared how it all lead up to what went down…
In the new video, Brown details his romance with Rihanna from the time they met — when they were just teenagers — to the time their relationship became destructive. Brown said after he told the “Work” singer that he slept with another woman early in their relationship, things took a turn for the worse.
“After that, my trust was lost with her. She hated me after that,” he admitted. “I tried everything, she didn’t care. She just didn’t trust me after that. From there, it just went downhill because there were too many verbal fights, physical fights as well. Mutual sides. We would fight each other. She would hit me, I would hit her and it never was okay.”
Pointing out that they both realized how dysfunctional their relationship had become, Brown continued, “There was always a point where we’d talk about it like, ‘What the f–k are we doing? Like, ‘I don’t like you slapping me.’ If I go on stage I got a scratch on my face and I gotta explain it like, ‘Oh, no I fell.’ If you got a scar or a bruise you gotta put makeup on. I’m not ever trying to put my hands on any female.”
Most of their issues weren’t public until things came to a head before the Clive Davis Grammy party in 2009. Brown gives his side in the documentary, explaining that the woman he slept with early in their relationship approached the couple at the event — which was very upsetting for Rihanna. Later in the night, Brown said he told Rihanna to look at his phone to deny that he had a relationship with the woman in question and the singer actually happened to see a message from her.
“She starts going off, she throws the phone,” he said. “I hate you.’ Starts hitting me. We’re in a little Lamborghini. She’s fighting me. I’m like, ‘Look, I’m telling you the truth, I swear’… She hits me a couple of more times and it doesn’t go from translation to, ‘Let’s sit down, I’m telling you the truth.’ It goes to, ‘Now, I’m going to be mean, be evil.’ I remember she tried to kick me, but then I really hit her, with a closed fist, I punched her. I busted her lip. When I saw it, I was in shock. I was like, ‘F–k, why the hell did I hit her?’”
Brown said that after Rihanna spit blood into his face, he became “enraged even more” and when he two pulled over, Rihanna pretended to throw his car keys, and once Brown went looking for them was when she yelled, “Help, he’s trying to kill me.”
Though Brown insists that the two were both fighting and he loved her at the time, he now says, “I look back at that picture and I’m like that’s not me, bro, that’s not me. I hate it to this day. That’s going to haunt me forever.”
i applaud him for being mature and speaking his side.
he could have slandered her,
but it is what it is.
their relationship was toxic,
but the problem with chris is it revealed just how toxic he is.
he didn’t help the issue with everything that happened after that.
all the random beefs,
his anger issues,
and all that allegedly happened with karrueche.
he got coddled and now plays victim when shit goes down.
“they are picking on me!” – he says.
that maybe true at times,
but he doesn’t help with the nonsense either.
he has been good lately so i hope he continues this streak.
this is the full clip of him speaking on all that happened:
i’ll watch the documentary when i find it.
i think he posted it will be on apple music.
don’t quote me.
i would love to interview him.
this is after i can afford cameras and good lighting.
like,
a real sit down talk because i have so much questions.
he is one of my dream interviews.
that would be the biggest foxhole exclusives.
lowkey: from what i’ve heard through the forests,
the alleged vixen he was banging was his alleged manager…
all alleged.
i don’t know if he was banging her,
but that was the alleged story most of us heard.

Why would he bring that incident up again?! It took a long time for people to forget it and/or put it behind them…and he wants to bring it all back up?! I hope he can handle the comments and fallout from a stupid move like this. It ain’t like his career is back on top where he can push it under the rug, so to speak.
If this is a way to “get it out of his system” i think it was a bad move. he should have left well enough alone…and left this unspoken. But that’s just me.
New album on the way?
What is he trying to promote because this isn’t just a clear my soul interview and by the way you talk in therapy not these cameras
I’m laugh so hard at these comments. He didn’t say one bad thing about her. everybody talking about Karruache but she hasn’t said nothing about allege abuse it was her manger and everybody talking about it 8 years old but people still talk about it haunt him so he’s going to talk about eventually talk about it. and I don’t care for Chris Brown
He is trash and I honestly can’t believe a word of what he says. Cause like another user said what about Karrueche? What he’s gonna say she beat him up too? It’s so easy to give Rihanna a bad name by saying she hit him because she’s fiesty and from the islands. I believe what the police report says not his wacked out version of the events. At the time he had announced this documentary he was in that situation with the white girl and some other mess with Kevin McCall, The punching of multiple men and women, the threats, the chair out the news window, the brick through his mom’s windshield I mean the list goes on and on.
Mature? His side? She slammed her face into his fists over and over until she managed to bruise his knuckles? Fuck Chris Brown and the industry that lets him get away with being a violent child so long as he doesnt put his hands on a white woman.
For me he’s just canceled forever. And i really don’t think now is the moment for this. People don’t want to remember and i’m sure he doesn’t want people to remember, it has been 8 years now, maybe 4 years ago or 2 years after the incident, now for me at least it’s too late and i don’t even wanna know what she did or what happened, he beat the shit out of her, that’s more than enough for me. Now i’m sure his fans gonna come with “BOTH SIDE were wrong” like trump. It is doing nothing good for him, especially since Karrueche said he beat her too. So chris bye!
But you beat up karrueche too, so what’s the excuse with that one?
