this past weekend,
i celebrated my birthday.
it wasn’t a grand affair with a huge guest list and party favors.
no one was doing coke in my bathroom.
no big shindigs or dinner plans.
i spent it with someone who is really special…

I couldn’t help but wonder:
Are we finally waking up to the madness that’s been parading as entertainment?

a friend recently said to me:

“Have you noticed a majority of folks on OF are crazy or severely mentally ill?”

i paused,
but honestly,
i had to agree.
many of these folks are confidently nuts or selling their souls. let’s take it a step further…

america is in this really weird place that when shit is about to go down,
especially when white folks are involved,
we assume that their privilege will protect them.
i assumed trump would be found not guilty and he’d be on his merry way.
i didn’t see this on my bingo card,
well i didn’t have a bingo card for this,
but this verdict…

i’m trying not to fall victim to sadness this christmas.
i’ve been avoiding all things that would make me feel depressed.
i don’t feel low energy tbh.
i’ve been on chill mode.
there are things that def can be done if you don’t want to feel sad.

Video games
Books
Cleaning your crib
Going into the city and taking a walk since everyone is elsewhere

it’s just a day that will end in more than 24 hours.
for 2023,
i asked myself what i would really want for christmas this year…

deep down inside,
we all want to be chosen.
we want to wake up next to the one rather than “the one right now”.
even the most thottish gay males want to settle down at one point.
we have had many discussions about steven beck.
i always thought he would remain a bachelor for all of his life.

noah’s arc was the gay’s “sex and the city”.
noah was carrie.
ricky was samantha.
chance was charolette.
alex was alex.
wade was mr. big.
every time a new episode was uploaded,
karaoke and i would rush to watch it together.
their theme song still brings me happiness ever time i listen to it:

that show really helped me find comfort in my young gay life,
especially the confusion of dealing with my own “wade”.
