i come home last friday,
after a long day of work,
and i’m asked to sit down because we need to talk.
first thing i say to myself:

“what fuckin’ now?”

i’m told…

“i have these sneaky suspicion you are being shady with me.
i could be wrong.
i feel like you are hiding something from me,
and i feel like when we both go our separate ways,
we will not be friends anymore.”

i kept my mouth shut.
after the blow ups we have had,
the best thing to do it let them talk,
even though i wanted to yell:

“WHY WOULD I WANT TO BE FRIENDS WITH YOU AGAIN?”

…but i digress.
anyhoo:

“…i feel like you have been ungrateful to all i’ve done for you.
you have never said let me give my one checks as gratitude,
or even take me out to dinner…”

yes,
give one of my whole checks.
you read right.
continuing:

“…you don’t know how you come off to me because of your tone.
you have a very matter a fact tone.
if i came up to you with an issue,
i’d apologize and tell you how grateful I am for you giving me a place to live.”

so i said cause at this point i got one fuck left:

“well,
after some of out blow ups,
i have not felt comfortable to be honest with you.
i’m always wondering what is gonna cause an issue.”

which got a:

“well i have said sorry to you…”

no you haven’t but go on.

“…but when i get mad,
i only see black and i’m trying to work on my issues.”

after a lot of them talking and me on the grey rock,
they start saying:

“you are a very empathic and compassionate person.
i have seen that you aren’t vindictive.
you are very friendly and so many people gravitate to you.
they could just met you and they open up to you quick.
you are a good person.
i’m learning we are just different people.”

mmhmm.

i kid you not.
that was how that entire conversation went.
afterwards,
they wanted to watch a documentary together before bed.
oh and also:

they told me i should ask my boss if i can rent a room at my job to live in.
