so i’ve tried to get into pink friday 2 since it’s release but i don’t like it.
i know,
i’m sorry but i can’t get into it.
it’s kinda boring to me.
it wasn’t what i was expecting either.
i was expecting the same hunger as the original pink friday.
everyone wants to talk about her age at a very young 41.
beyonce is the same age as her.
like,
folks can’t go away to die because they are older.
this is when you have “no more fucks” and more experience.
it’s not about age for me tbh…
It’s the fact that she isn’t hungry anymore.
she seems bored and out of creative ideas.
i was expecting nicki to mirror pink friday but in a different way.
does that make any sense?
i was looking forward to “pp1 nicki vs pp2 nicki“,
the ups and downs of her marriage,
the struggles she has been facing mentally,
being a mom,
bringing out roman,
and a personal dive into her life since that first album.
unfortunately,
it seems like she doesn’t have anything to talk about.
every album rollout it is fueled by drama and beef.
her being angry for no reason at all.
i have lumped her in with the same way i feel with drake and kanye.
Drake – miserable
Nicki – bored and uninspired
Kanye – the voices in his head have taken the wheel
ive been listening to a lot of debut albums lately.
debuts,
and some sophomore albums,
have more hunger and passion.
once some folks make it and have done pretty much everything,
or aren’t poor and desperate for success anymore,
there is nothing left to really talk about.
so we are left with UN-inspired albums and “wtf are they doing?” antics to sell records.
Beyonce did right with Renaissance
Kendrick did with Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers
Nicki,
Drake,
and Kanye been talking and doing the same shit for the past few years now.
i feel like many of us are struggling with this “post-pandemic” forest.
so many of us want to hear music that reflects the times.
we wanna hear music that will keep us motivated while having a good time.
that is what older artists did that made them legends.
they made us dance,
cry,
love,
hate,
reflect,
fuck,
and feel connected.
it’s easy to have that hunger and be rich af but that takes being relatable too.
Maybe the times are everyone is angry and fueled by drama atm?
so yeah,
i didn’t feel pink print 2 the way i wanted.
It might be more appreciated by me in the future.
What is this hunger you speak of? I thought PF2 showed growth from her “hungry” years, which should be expected, not a repeat of PF1
I agree with the 1st commenter! Based on your past articles about her I already knew you would have a biased opinion. I personally loved the album from start to finish! It showed growth and gave her very diverse fan base a little bit of everything! As she stated before, this album is for the barbz.
Judging by all your old posts on her, you CLEARLY ain’t ever liked Nicki so what was the point of this mid ass post ? You getting mediocre at the point, hang it up.
^ please show me posts where i said i didn’t like nicki.
thanks!
