fact vs opinion vs bias

sometimes,
when i go on social media,
i often realize many people are stupid af.
they spread opinions and biases that some folks follow as facts.
no one does their research but acts like lemmings on a cliff.

in my life,
when i feel like shit is hitting the fan,
i have also been prone to following my own opinions or bias.
in therapy,
my therapist will stop me and ask

“What are the facts of this situation?”

…and would lead me to realize that it was strictly opinions and biases.
everything was all opinion or a belief that led to a biased thought.

Many people don’t go on facts nowadays.
They go on opinions or form certain biases on past beliefs.
The amount of misinformation being spread is ridiculous.

you’ll see people get upset because someone doesn’t like their fav artist.
they’ll be bullied into changing their opinion which is horrible.
remember: anyone can say they’re sorry but they don’t actually mean it.
everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
it doesn’t mean it is a fact.

Opinion: Ice Spice is pretty mid to me.
Fact: Ice Spice is successful with or without my liking her.
Bias: I like my artists to prove their worth before they recieve a crown

Opinion: Someone is not speaking to me because I did something and they won’t tell me
Fact: They are actually dealing and busy with their own lives
Bias: It has happened before in my past with 1 or 2 people (which turns into a false belief)

Opinion: I will not be successful
Fact: What evidence do I have that this is true?
Bias: My abuse and trauma are creating that narrative within my self-talk

Opinion: This guy isn’t going to like me
Fact: He has been giving signals that he is interested
Bias: I have been led on and hurt before and it’ll happen again

Opinion: I think I’m ugly
Fact: Everyone tells me I’m attractive, handsome, or sexy in some variation
Bias: I think I’m ugly because of my self-esteem and low self-worth

Opinion: No one cares about me
Fact: Many people care about me because their actions tell me so
Bias: I want the people who don’t care about me to care about me

i urge the foxhole,
in any situation or problem,
to look for the facts and come to a logical answer.
don’t fall victim to opinions or think something is fact based on biases.
you’ll see how fast your life will change with this life hack.
