I had to wonder:
Have you ever felt like you’re constantly being hunted,
as if some unseen predator is always lurking just beyond the shadows?
in the animal kingdom,
every creature has a predator that hunts them.
they either learn or are gifted the skills to survive.
even the weakest animals have been given speed.
in the human jungle,
especially now,
we’re all being hunted by something in our backgrounds.
each one of us has our own cross to bear and i call it…
Being chased by the bear.
some people face small bears that merely torment them,
bears that therapy can help defeat.
others have bears so massive,
grown fat on years of overfeeding,
that one wrong move could mean being devoured alive.
i don’t think we can ever truly kill the bears that hunt us.
just because the bear went in hibernation,
due to having fun or getting into a new relationship,
that doesn’t mean it won’t come back with vengeance.
All it takes is something that triggers us to start poking our sleeping bear.
in life ,
there will always “something.”
we slay one bear and another takes its place.
sometimes one that is bigger and harder to beat.
some of us have multiple bears that we can’t have any peace.
so maybe,
just maybe…
We need to become so inwardly strong that we turn into the apex predators of our own struggles.
…and when any and every bears that pops up in our lives,
it does nothing but sharpen our claws and make us even stronger.
perhaps the real victory isn’t in escaping the bears,
but it’s in transforming ourselves so profoundly that we no longer fear them.
instead,
we welcome the chase and stand ready to fight,
knowing we’re equipped to conquer whatever comes our way.
