my mind has been on cheslie kryst since the news broke she took her life.
it made me realize just how those that are suffering are great actors.
some of the conspiracy theorists have been saying chesie was murdered.
they can’t fathom why someone with her beauty and success,
who looked like they had it all,
would even decide to jump from her building.
cheslie’s mother released a statement to tmz to set the record straight…
this was her last interview with extra:
as someone who suffers from depression,
it will play tricks with your mind.
it will have you believe that you are:
Ugly
Worthless
No one likes you
People are mad at you
You are not going to be successful
You are the reason you aren’t in a relationship
Don’t have what it takes to make it
Everyone else is better than you
Everyone else is more successful than you
You are better off dead
those are some thoughts and examples i’ve had during my struggle.
high functioning depression will make you play a role for the public,
but when you are all alone,
your demons come out in full force to eat you alive.
people could applaud you all day,
but you don’t see or hear any of that.
your depression doesn’t allow you to believe it.
its hard to find happiness when you are feeling so low.
this is why many are suffering silently during this pandemic.
it has changed many of our lives for the worst.
some of us have to sit with ourselves alone and that can be a scary place.
i want to send my condolences to cheslie’s mother and all her loved ones.
i can only imagine how difficult a time it is for them.
i hope that somewhere within the grief,
they can come to the acceptance that cheslie is at peace.

The saddest part is that after seeing someone who seemingly had ‘sooo much to live for’, literally suffering IN PRIVATE, enough to jump to end her struggle, it STILL won’t wake up enough ppl to consider that maybe 1 of the regular, run of the mill ppl in their day to day lives with much ‘less to live for’, might also be silently suffering.
This should be a lesson to more than just her loved ones.
*Btw, I hope you haven’t given up your book club idea, Jamari.
Just what I thought. WOW. This is so sad, so sad for the parents and family. The hurt. The pain. The trauma. So many people go through this slow torture of depression and of course these drugs that they take pushes them further to the breaking point. Sad day for mental health even sadder day for medicine.
