one of my good friends stays payin’ bail about pit bulls.
i refuse to let my feet off their necks.
something about those dogs is dangerous af to me.
i feel like it’s in their nature to snap and maul your ass.
i read a story today that didn’t help change my mind.
the victim was mauled and had her arms amputated by a pit bull mauling.
she found out she had no arms when she awoke from her coma.
per daily mail…
A South Carolina mom-of-three who was mauled by three pit bulls woke up from a coma recently only to discover that both her arms had been amputated – and got so upset that doctors were forced to sedate the victim and put her back on a ventilator.
Kyleen Waltman, 38, was attacked by the trio of dogs when she was walking home along a gravel path lined with trees near her home in rural Honea Path, about 80 miles northwest of Columbia, South Carolina.
In a heartbreaking post on GoFundMe, Waltman’s sister, Amy Wynne, shared the series of health battles she’s faced since the attack, including high blood pressure, fever, and respiratory issues.
She also wrote that Kyleen was so viscerally upset upon finally waking up that doctors were forced to sedate her.
‘Now they have took off everything on the arms that now she can not have regular prosthetics,’ Wynne wrote.
‘So here we are trying to figure out how to keep her from thinking negative thoughts about her life. I understand that for 38 years she’s had arms and now she doesn’t, how she’s thinking. She’s still fighting. Prayers are working and slowly she healing.
Walter has undergone several surgeries and is scheduled for more, according to a GoFundMe set up for her medical care, which has raised more than $161,000 as of Monday night. She might also need her esophagus removed.
Tanya Gilmer, Waltman’s best friend, told WGN Radio that the dogs ‘pretty much ripped all the meat from [Walter’s] arms,’ and that the woman now has ‘a hole in the back of her head.’
according to reports,
she was mauled by her neighbor’s pit bulls as she was walking home.
foxhole…
This story is so sad
like,
i literally cried for this woman.
imagine waking up and seeing you have no arms?
imagine waking up and your way of life is officially changed?
all your dreams and goals are shattered.
she was literally minding her business and this happens.
life can be so fucked up.
i won’t even cap:
I would request to have to put me down.
i’m not even joking.
i pray for kyleen to find peace in her pain.
sending her my prayers for strength in this dark and cruel time.

I hate Pitbull’s. My mom’s small dog got mauled when I took her out to my back yard at the beginning of the Pandemic. Low class neighbor next door knew his fence was broken but still put a Pitbull back there unbeknownst to anyone. Sadly the laws are such that you can’t prosecute in Jersey if the owners have not registered the dogs. There was a case in Jersey city where two dogs killed a baby and damn near killed the mom and the DA wouldn’t prosecute the neighbor for anything because he never registered the dogs. Luckily my neighbor was a known life long criminal that kept ducking police and when they would catch him and bring him to court he would escape and never get inside for the hearing which lead to more jail time. It’s been years and he finally lost his house because he been in more than he been out. My small town police stayed on the case tho, code enforcement, animal control etc, they did what they could but I still haven’t had my day in court.
Why were the pits allowed to roam in the first place. They are very territorial but loving to their owners. They do get a bad rap but that comes from their trainers. Those dogs should have been caged inside a home. The owner knows those dogs in a pack is not going to be friendly towards anybody. Some states when pits attack people like that, the state has to put them down regardless what the owner pays for. Some states they are illegal or you have to register them. This woman entire way of life has changed.
This IS a really sad story. While it’s not pc to say, I also don’t know if I’d have the strength to readjust to that new normal. I pray that her support system is solid. Prayers all the way up for her.
That neighbor needs his ass beat. Not jail and fines (well, those too) but he needs his ass beat!
And the breed gets a bad rap because they’ve been adopted as the official hoodrat dog (white ppl are rats too). Ppl who think it’s cute to have dogs fight and be angry, chained up in the back, ‘guard’ dogs have left this breed being blamed for trash ass, incompetent pet owners.
The owner of the dogs is at fault. I hope the breed will fall out of popularity, so it can return to its original body and temperament. Shameful!
