Fonting of The Boys…

i’ve realized that when i don’t watch something everyone is raving about,
it’s because i’m not ready for the message yet.
there are countless shows i’ve skipped because my spirit wasn’t prepared.
take “the boys” on amazon prime-
i’d heard the buzz but wasn’t feeling it.
out of nowhere over the weekend,
i felt this pull to start watching.
let me font you,
foxhole…

this past weekend,
i celebrated my birthday.
it wasn’t a grand affair with a huge guest list and party favors.
no one was doing coke in my bathroom.
no big shindigs or dinner plans.
i spent it with someone who is really special…

I’m giving the same look as well.

back in the 80s and 90s,
coke was the party drug of choice.
in this decade,
it’s still the go-to for the elite but has been slowly making its way into the hood.
fonting of the hood,
once crack was introduced,
it was over.
growing up,
meth was the ultimate nightmare drug.
those meth ads scared my gay ass straight,
showing how it could slowly turn you into a gargoyle.

…but recently,
it seems like meth is becoming more and more accepted.

i came across a tweet that hit me in the gut,
and many Foxholers echoed the sentiment with their own stories and confirmations….

a journal prompt popped up on my phone asking:

“I define independence as…”

my answer?…

One thing I’ve learned about males from experience and The Foxhole…

it doesn’t matter if you’re ugly or fine,
fat or skinny,
muscular or average,
masc or fem,
tall or short,
broke or employed,
wild pimples or clean & clear face,
a cool kid or a dork,
wolves or foxes,
big bumsi or flat pancakes,
come from a well to do family or be raised in the hood…
when males want to saddle up and ride…
