aaron pierre isn’t dark skin enough for this role?

I guess the cats out the bag because my manz,
Aaron Pierre,
is now on everyone’s “to f*ck” list.

it was so wild that one of my vixen friends hit me up about him the other day.
need i remind everyone The Foxhole covered him ( x first ).
you know i like to be on the bottom of things when it comes to wolves.
aaron had everyone salivating with his role on “rebel ridge” on netflix.

the feral whores started plotting after this role so you know that has me vex.
i’m sure this next casting announcement is gonna make the line even longer via deadline

Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge) has been tapped to star in Lanterns, HBO‘s high-profile series based on the Green Lantern DC comic. He is set to play John Stewart opposite Hal Jordan, a role Kyle Chandler has been in negotiations for and expected to close.

Pierre landed the John Stewart part after an extensive search. As Deadline reported two weeks ago, in the process’ final stages, he had emerged as a frontrunner alongside Stephen James.

you hear that?

A stampede of sluts heading our way.

ugh.
i was supposed to be the only slut!
damn you aaron for your voodoo and subtle big dick energy.

i saw some rumbles on the socials that the character is supposed to be dark skin.
some folks are mad about that it seems.
like this one:

Um,
who cares?

folks going off about kamala’s heritage like wtf does that have to do with her running the country?
we had a game show host,

who was/is a closet racist,
that ran the country so i think we can let anyone else have a shot.
the darker skinned actors should have done a better job,
eh?

not only that,
a black male is getting more work and that should be celebrated.
aaron is a good actor and looks even better on camera.
sounds good enough for me and they will have to deal.

lowkey: i love how polite he is…

i try not to watch too much “in the wild” things with him.
i like to keep my meat fresh.

  1. Interesting.
I was going to give you some pushback Jamari, but after seeing some of the backlash toward Aaron Pierre, I’m going to agree with you for the most part even though multiple things can be true.

I like Aaron Pierre, and I think his role in “Rebel Ridge” may have helped solidify his casting as John Stewart; even though I thought “Rebel Ridge” was a backhanded slap in the face to the black community, it was still a good look for Aaron. The more I see Aaron in mock Green Lantern outfits, the more I feel like he would do a good job in the role. That being said, Hollywood does have some problems.

Colorism and overall anti-blackness are a thing. Hollywood has made it clear that they aren’t doing dark complexion black people, black love, or any real stories of black empowerment where black people are the only heroes of their stories. That’s why we are getting very light or racially ambiguous people, it is why we are getting flooded with interracial relationships in our advertising, TV shows and movies, etc.
Acting appears to be glamorous, it’s risky but the rewards are high, but at the end of the day acting is gig work, you take what’s available so I’m not going to hold it against Aaron; people suggesting that he should’ve stepped aside so that a darker black actor could take the role is ridiculous.

    1. THANK YOU!!!! People acting like he’s damn near white! Give me a break with this bull.

    2. THANK YOU!!! People are acting like the man is damn near white! I’m so tired of this bull!

  2. This is exactly like Halle Berry and Alexandra Shipp being cast as Storm.

It’s unacceptable. It’s tone deaf when lightskin people say it doesn’t matter, and even more tone deaf coming from someone who isn’t.

The creator, a white man had to fight for John to not be lightskin. He is literally dark-skin in every comic and cartoon adaptation.

It’s not semantics. John Stewart’s complexion is a big part of his character.

The irony is, when Storm is cast, suddenly you guys will get it.

    1. Only Black people settle like this. The “I’m just glad it’s not a white guy” and “other characters have been changed” is tired. Nobody gives a crap about Booster Gold, but now that an Indian man is cast, up in arms.

When Native American roles are cast, Native Americans drag people who aren’t Native American and claim they have Native ancestry as Pretendians.

Asians call out how any Asian can play a specific ethnicity because white people think they’re all the same.

Heck, even white people go off on accents saying British accents are Scottish ones and drag those roles.

Only Black people are satisfied with the absolute bare minimum.

Y’all are doing this for 2 reasons:
      1-You think he is attractive
2-He makes you feel like you could be racially ambiguous

He is fully Black, but 100% could say he was biracial, Blatino, etc and nobody would question it. Black women did this with Megan Markle saying she looks Black, knowing dang well she doesn’t.

If you as a Black person see yourself in him and that most Black people “look like him”, you’re either lightskin or wish you were. He passes the paper bag test and y’all want to play dumb.
