  1. Looking past the “sex” of this show isn’t too hard but sex is pretty much a part of life, not the only thing of course and is everywhere. Tex is the way he is for a reason for a reason. The show is kinda dark, probably one of the darkest I’ve seen Signal21 take on a show that I’ve seen. Ep 4 has a pretty graphic sex scene which is a tad bit too long but aside from that, the underlying subject matter is disturbing to me.

  2. tbh I enjoyed this series I just can’t take it seriously even though I should. :/ I’ll watch it because I feel it makes more sense than season 2 of about him and climaxx.

  3. Is there ONE black gay storyline where sex isn’t the main storyline? I don’t take these seriously, at all. If this is what “we” want as a “community” then I’m disappointed. It’s hard to be taken seriously about being “more than sex” when we produce “porn but not porn” exclusively. If they actually were good writers, or had any messages of substance,they wouldn’t need sex to carry their plotlines. #nuffsaid. It’s funny how there are series featuring gay AND black men and yet I STILL feel under/misrepresented lol.

    Btw, I take this stance with most of the garbage being put out on commercial TV, music,and movies, but this right there is even more extreme.

    1. Have you watched “Love at First Night” on Slay TV channel ? Check off that channel their shows are not so sex oriented.

      2. I haven’t heard of it. Is it any good? I might check it out, but my expectations thus far on these shows have been diminished lol. I hope it’s worth the check out! Thanks for the recommendation YC!

  4. I just watched an interview with Tripp Ali who plays Tex Brown on Youtube Channel “Juan and Gee”. It was about being single and dating in Atlanta.Tripp talked about how it’s difficult to find a mate because most guys want to have sex too fast.He said he won’t date anyone who is on Jack’d because he assumes they are promiscuous.He also mentioned he had a blind date recently with some guy he met on SM,I think IG.It was a horrible blind date.
    It’s interesting hearing him talk about how conservative (sexually)he is after watching him on Tex Brown screwing everything with a pulse.😂 He also mentioned he couldn’t be in an open relationship.He did it once but hated it.

  6. I think the thing that resonated with the concept of ABOUT HIM was that a lot of us saw ourselves in the characters. I feel that Signal23 was groundbreaking in telling our story as gay people of color, but now I look at it as being low-brow. This is porn disguised with storylines. You won’t subscribe to BreeditRaw and Dawgpound but you will subscribe to Signal23? Right… All of them are on Myvidster.

      3. People are always leaking stuff on Pornhub.I watched all the uncensored episodes of About Him on Pornhub.Somebody will post them and a few days later the producers will have them taken down.So when I see them I go on a “binge” and watch them all before they are removed.😂

      4. Yea. They be on top of that on porn sites. I saw “Tex Brown” on pornhub and I was going to watch the second episode after you posted the first but by the time I was going to view it it was gone within hours. HOURS!
