i love creating ambiance.
i love for folks to feel comfortable when around me.
i don’t know about you,
but i love music that sets a mood.
it makes you feel something that you can’t explain.
it just feels good.
i remember one evening,
when i was about to get sexed from a hook up,
i put on tremaine’s mixtape,
“anticipation”.
as we smoked and talked,
it created an atmosphere where we both got comfortable.
i love shit like that.
this is why i love when shows i watch have great background music.
“queen sugar”,
“insecure”,
“gossip girl”,
“she’s gotta have it”,
“being mary jane”,
and “dear white people” have the best soundtracks.
well i recently found music that calms my anxiety down and makes me feel good.
i don’t know if you ever listened to this…
lo fi hiphop
according to urban dictionary:
“A subliminal sub-genre of conscious hip-hop that is characterized by the high-utilization of elements such as introspection and seeks to engage with elements of human emotion. Elements such as high distortion as well as mellow sounds are more prominent features of any lofi hip-hop soundtrack.
Great examples of lofi hip-hop artists and producers include Substantial, Nujabes, Jinsang, Vanilla, J a r j a r, beatmachineron, and literally MILLIONS more of these talented individuals “
i write most of the foxhole entries while it’s playing in the background.
when i’m having bad anxiety,
it let’s me regain focus.
i actually want to have sex to it because it makes me feel so relaxed.
i love it.
they have a ton of playlists on spotify for those who want to check it out.
search: lo fi hiphop /chillhop/jazzhop.
let it play:
as background music in your spot,
on the way/from to work/school in the morning
studying,
getting high,
taking a night drive,
some “conversation” background music music,
alone time with you and your thoughts
…and see what it does to you!
to enhance the effect of the music: burn incense and a candle.
lowkey: jazz will always reign supreme as ambiance music for me.
I love jazz too. When you get a chance check out the legendary Jazz saxaphonist Najee
One of my favorite things about the Foxhole is all the good music I have discovered since coming here. I thank you because I never listen to the radio or do any music research to see who has new music. I love all of this music on this thread.
Agreed! I have been looking for new music, these are all new for me, going to check them out!
wow..love those mixes
Hey Beautiful! I think you might dig this too. A cyber-babe cottoned me onto this:

Kelala has a track calle LMK that a really like!
Thank you so much for this. I listen to chill ambiance music during the weekends to get rid of the week stress. I will also like to share some of my favorites;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcAiayke00I
This one is a little different, its Native American flute music. I found it out while I was going to a difficult time in my life and still use it now to clear my head;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrluNutLNpc
and this is more on the Classical music/instrumental genre;

Sabrina Claudio’s album “About Time” fits this genre to a T. Mellow, calm, and easy going that’s sets the mood I suggest the foxhole to check it out.
^checking out now!
^omg i listened to her album,
“confidently lost”,
on random like a week ago and i really enjoyed it!!
i’ll give this other one a listen!
Sabrina is awesome! Under the radar!
Thank you, Jamari.
I’m a mad anime buff.
I think animes like Samurai Champloo and Kekkai Sensen have the best ambiance music, especially with lofi hip hop playing in the background. You should check them out. You’ll love em
I agree the music from Samurai Champloo is fantastic
^this will explain why i saw so much anime artwork when i was looking for images of chill hop yesterday
I was on this heavy during my last year of undergrad recently. I have flown through for thesis so quick that I didn’t realize I was twenty pages into it.
Me too! I’m currently an undergrad and I always listen to low-fi hip hop playlists on YOuTube & Spotify because I can concentrate more. If I’m listening to my favorite artist then I’d just get lost into the song and start singing/dancing rather than studying. That’s why these chill zen beats are ideal for students
LMAO..Back in high school I always found listening to classical music helped me breeze through my homework. Smooth Jazz took its place as I got older. Once that flow starts…you’re finished whatever you’re working on before you know it!
Believe it or not emotional vibration can actually be concentrated into frequency
example monaural beats are similar to lofi because of the ambiaotic music
https://youtu.be/HnRcvJKZeVM
Then there are isometric tones oh boy those are uncut pure frequencies such as
https://youtu.be/QKlMTQesq7g
There are frequencies for everything it just popped in me one day just by listening to these two frequencies
It has really changed my life by giving me more understanding clarity and control of myself
It has helped me understand others too
I also am starting to listen to the following
https://youtu.be/jf6wLXnJXhE
And https://youtu.be/gtg3YQvxdxM
I must say I’m a follower a contributor and fan of this blog and have been following for years
I’m so happy you have been following your heart and will and this has helped me overcome a lot of my anxieties and really look at my life and what I want in it
I hope what I’ve shown here can help elevate you closer to the vision of yourself you truly are
And I hope this can help the followers and lurkers alike
Peace
James
Oh they all happen to be in order of link
1. Fear/anxiety relief (monaural)
2. Fear / anxiety relief. (Isometric)
3. Melanin production
4. Sun frequency
^omg when i say i heard about monaural beats,
but i didn’t know what it was!!!
thank you for these links james and the love is appreciated!!
those beats sounded so peaceful and im ready to experience them.
i really love how this music really calms my anxiety.
music is very soothing and can give you an out of body experience.
so grateful for this comment!
YES! I’ve been seeing these popping up recently, and I like. Great for ambience!
Lana Del Rey sets really good ambiance. Her production is really orchestral and immersive and her way of vocalizing is juuuuust dreary enough to be ephemeral and create a somber lowkey kinda mood
^you already know i fucks with lana high key!
I’m going to check these out, great for a rainy day, romantic evening with that special someone.
^YES!!!!!
