so i started watching a doc on hulu everyone was fonting about on rih’s socials.
it’s a look into what went down before,
during,
and after hurricane katrina,

she got fired for her “thoughts and prayers” post about the texas floods

i’m “millennial” enough to remember hurricane katrina in 2025.
Lord have mercy,
that shit was brutal.
i’ll never forget the pic i saw of all the dead black bodies in the water.
it wasn’t like 2 or 3; it was like over 100 black bodies floating in the water.
that coverage was on CNN all day and i just remember crying all the time.
i have a friend that lived there and i was PANICKED.
she went unreachable and i thought they were in the superdome.
if you were there,
you know what was happening in the superdome.
thank GOD she and her family took no chanced and left NOLA before katrina hit.
I’ll never forget how that was handled and caused this iconic moment:
in 2025,
in a reminiscent political climate in 2005,
there has been bad floods in texas.
