it seems the nfl is going to deal with those who kneel next year.

But the league also said the new policy would not force athletes to stand on the sideline during the anthem; it would give them the option of staying in the locker room during the pregame ceremony.

New York Jets chairman Christopher Johnson did vote with the majority of owners on Wednesday, but that does not mean he will stop players from protesting.
‘Do I prefer that they stand? Of course,’ he continued. ‘But I understand if they felt the need to protest. There are some big, complicated issues that we’re all struggling with, and our players are on the front lines. I don’t want to come down on them like a ton of bricks, and I won’t. There will be no club fines or suspensions or any sort of repercussions. If the team gets fined, that’s just something I’ll have to bear.’
Johnson plans to huddle with Jets coach Todd Bowles and the team’s players at his first opportunity.
Johnson’s older brother Woody is the team’s owner and a supporter of President Donald Trump, who has been very critical of protesting players. Woody Johnson now serves as the U.S. ambassador to the U.K.
‘Even without those fines, this is going to be tough on the players, and I want a chance to speak with the coaches and other players to get feedback on this policy and to build on the good work and momentum that we have built up on these issues of social justice, on legislation, and all the things that we can do,’ he said.

a lot of folks i know protested football last season.
it looks like they won’t be watching this season either.

It’s a known fact many of the owners are old, racist white men. The fact that there are woman beaters and sexual abusers playing without any hindrance from the NFL, but kneeling for the flag is where the league draws the line should tell you how they really feel. Hopefully they see their racist decrease by another 30% next season.
Didnt watch last year, and will not be watching this year either, it seems like white people were so offended that rich Black athletes had the nerve to protest it got them in a frenzy especially 45 Supporters, so I guess the NFL is catering to their bottom line and are giving a big FUKK YOU to the issues going on in our country that affect 100 percent of all Black Americans. It is so funny they are offended by kneeling but not police brutality or the treatment of minorities in this country, that is okay as long as you dont disrespect their precious anthem. I guess it is true that athletes are nothing more than high price property. It is a national crisis if they dare speak up and exercise their freedom of speech. 2018 white team owners telling mostly black men how they must behave on a football field.As recently as 153 years ago white slaveowners were telling black people how they must behave in the plantation fields.
And no I’m not equating rich football players to enslaved people.As for the owners…nvm.

Watch…they will probably stay in the locker room when the anthem is played, but I bet you many won’t be kneeling.
