are we here for the prequel to the lion king 2019?

I’m not even gonna hold you but I wasn’t a fan of the “The Lion King 2019” remake.
Bey was an African lioness with a southern accent.
I was so confused what was happening.

“Lions attack” lives rent free in my head.

as millennials,
we are starting to see some of our fav. movies as kids getting remade.

some have been pretty good; others have been,
well,
the 2019 version of the lion king.
the soundtrack was really good tho.
i don’t why they aren’t dusting off past flops from our childhoods and remaking them.
maybe…

We lived in an era where we didn’t have that much flops?

eh.
so the prequel to 2019 version is on the way.
it’s called mufusa: the lion king and the teaser trailer was just introduced…

i’m scared to font that i was into that because i feel i’m gonna be disappointed.
it actually looks really good.
bey and her daughter,
blue,
will be joining this second installment too.

I’m kinda confused that it’s a prequel but Simba,
Nala,
and their daughter will be in it.

i guess they’re telling his father’s story to their kid?
i guess i’ll have to wait and see.
mufusa: the lion king hits theaters december 20th.

x PEEP THE CAST HERE

lowkey: they better not remake “mrs. doubtfire” because i’ll throw paws.

  1. Haven’t seen the first one as it felt like a pointless remake but this I will check out, as it’s new material. We needed this and stuff like Lion King 1 1/2, not the same story we all know.

  2. Honestly, for me, this movie is a big “No”! I haven’t liked any of the Disney live-action remakes, they just don’t compare to their animated counterparts. With Lion King it’s especially difficult because a lot of the people who were involved in the original are still alive, Whoopi Goldberg, Jason Weaver, James Earl Jones, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, etc. If the actors still sound the same, they should just be reprising their roles.

Another issue I have, and we just need to be honest, and I’m going to go ahead and say it, while I like Beyoncé; I’m getting a little burnt out on Beyoncé. As you pointed out she wasn’t that good in the first live-action remake and now we are going to be bombarded on social media with “black twitter” telling us how great the movie is because Beyoncé and Blue Ivy are in it. Bottomline is the material any good or not?
