i didn’t clean.
i didn’t wash my clothes.
i didn’t do any spells or eat chicken instead of pork.
my apartment is tidy and all i did was take out the trash.
i caught up with friends,
took an edible,
and fell asleep a few hours before the ball dropped.
thats right…

Jamari Fox slept through any and everything NYE.
I woke up at 5 am on New Years Day and then went back to sleep.

this is how i know this new years is starting off different for me.
honestly,
i didn’t care.
for many new years of the past,
i was trying to do what everyone else was doing.
all of their good luck rituals i tried for the new year ahead.
things i did to get HIM.

i realized something tho.
regardless if your life is together or not,
your year will still be your year.
it may just be the year you rise or if you fall.
it could be the year you meet the one or still be single.
life is still gonna life.
you are still gonna encounter bullshit and you gonna have to fix it.
i went into this new year relaxed and cozy af.
that is how i want my 2023 to be.
