… WHICH MALE DEBUT WERE YOU FEELIN’?

..and be honest.
in picking your answer,
take into consideration

can you play without skipping tracks?
you had sex to?
have the most memories?
who you wanted to bang?
songs made you feel good?

  1. Mario is soooo underrated. Why do people sleep on him so much?
The only time he got a little recognition was ‘let me love you’ but he didn’t really capitalize off of it. But regardless mario’s album was dope i didnt listen to it til maybe 08 lol but it was good and he was far better vocally than the others except maybe ne-yo.
But trey songz vocals are overrated and chris brown is a dancer not a vocalist, but he made good music.

Omarion? Doesn’t count. His ass is why he’s here, dude got a body.

Chris Brown’s debut was kool it had some really good songs but was over hyped. Alot of the better songs, weren’t singles and some of the singles were overplayed to the point of annoyance.

Ne-yo’s debut was really really good. Mirror? Time? Let go? Mirror was dope still get turned on listening to it lol.

It’s really between Mario and Ne-Yo and I’ll give it to Ne-Yo because even though i think Mario is criminally underrated his debut was way back in whenever and i didnt listen to it until years later, while Ne-Yo’s i enjoyed form the get go.

    So Ne-Yo wins this round.

*sidenote: I couldn’t stand Mario when he just came out, thought he was weird looking but he really got sexy. He’s underrated physically as well ’cause he’s fine as fuck.
I’d say the finest one on this list as well.

  2. Ne-yo wins for me. The album was written by him and was steps ahead lyrically above the rest of the guys. Chris did well for being 16. Omarion had the beats and did ok. Mario tried to sing for our hearts but didn’t claim them. I liked the songs though. Trey could have one but this evolution makes me not want to pick him plus the BH fiasco.

  3. my answer…

    mario is out.
i own that album and only listened to the first single.
    ne-yo is also out.
    never heard the album.
    just loved the singles.

    o-cake’s album was okay.
    nothing to write home about.
    breezy wolf.
he got me with yo and poppin’,
but i felt the album was for teenie bopper vixens.
i couldn’t get into it after a while.

i like songzbird album out of all of them.
i felt it was more soulful and it had good content.
that album actually makes me feel good when i listen to it.

  4. Gotta go with Ne-Yo on this battle of the debuts. And that’s soley on “So Sick” and “When You’re Mad”. Those songs were HUGE hits and still get play today! Breezy comes in second for me because he’s really an overall great performer/singer/dancer and his vocals were on point back in the day. His debut was really well put together and “Yo, Excuse Me Miss” will forever be the video/song that made me a Breezy fan! He was soooooo cute and thicker then, and he moved so smoothly, and the shot of him playing basketball was it for me! I was like, “Dang, he’s cute, can sing, can dance, and he can really hoop!” O-Cakes gets an honorable mention because musically (track wise) his album was DOPE! Songs like “O” and “Touch” was great RnB! Everyone else’s debut…MEH…

  5. For me, its “Gotta Make It”…This song came out after I hit a rough patch in my life and I listened to it nonstop. It had (and still has) a great message. The entire “I Gotta Make It” album was dope.

    1. See I can understand where you are coming from. But, the fact that he cant really sing live all that well from the jump is what blocks me from Mr.Songz. It could be just me tho.

  6. Chris Brown debut was classic, I have to go with him on this one. That whole CD was great. NEYO was good to but Chris debut was more fun. Omarion was my baby when O came out but it wasn’t nothing compared to Chris or NEYO, and Mario would probably come after Chris cuz he did run 02 even tho I was like 8 or 9

  7. OK. Even though this was between 5 albums, it was very easy for me to make a decision. “I Gotta Make It” was the best album. Gotta Go, Cheat On You, Kinda Loving, In The Middle, All The Ifs, and Make Love Tonight were all the shit lol

  8. Btw Jamari I’m really liking these for the record post. Next one can you do one for the upcoming male singers like Bruno, The Weeknd, and Frank b/c those dudes are super talented.

  9. Easily the most talented and the only one that can truly sing. “So Sick” and “When You’re Mad” were my jams. I would considered his album a great contemporary r&b album. Never got into Chris Brown or Trey Songz b/c their pitchy vocals never did it for me. I did like Omarion he was cool. And Mario just don’t have any star quality so I never got into him.

  10. At first I was going to say Chris Brown because performance wise he dominated that era. But if we are just talking album I will go with Ne-yo because his debut album was a classic
