1. Yes his hair. put it under the candle. By doing this your are putting a request out to the universe of what you desire. “Law of Attraction”… Its like a vision board but fire is involved and Passion is hot.. lol…but if you are doing it for bad intentions.. remember there is always a price to pay…. KARMA… like Knowledge mentioned above. Used condoms works too, put it up in the freezer and they will keep coming back.. but that is a different story…

2. You can use the candles for good or bad… whatever energy you want from it..Not to bring up the past Jamari; but when WW was over at your place and you were “greasing” his scalp.. You should of taken some of his hair and put it under one of those candles….

      Karma is a word from the philosophy of many Indian religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism). The basic theory is that the universe runs according to certain laws. In other words, your actions – mental, vocal and physical are your Karma so if you do something good, something good will happen to you, and vice versa.

3. 😒😒😒 smh…. I have those candles in my household since I am Catholic….. No, these Spanish candles have no relation to Voodoo since Voodoo is a religion that primarily focus on West African belief and orisha and people who practice Voodoo don’t rely on Spanish candles because it’s association with Catholic belief, Voodoo mostly rely on veve which are symbols o sigils.

   Santeria which is also a religion that is a mixture of Catholic and Voodoo, I guess. Yea they use Spanish candles when they are doing an offering to one of the saints o orisha.

   Brujeria which is spanish for witchcraft. Yea they might use these candles for spells, but these are religious candles that are primarily use for praying with one of the saints you lit your candle for in a time of needs or asking for a favor. And also for protection. It not evil, that really make no sense cause *Saints* and evil do not go hand and hand with each other.

4. Relax boo. Catholicism has survived so long and so well by incorporating older customs into it. What you call “voodoo” is mostly just the veneration of saints and the worship of African gods at the same time. For example, Santa Barbara in the Catholic firmament is Chango in Cuban Santeria, Haitian vodun and Brazilian candomble. As the Catholic patron of architects and prisoners, someone might be lighting a candle to ask her to protect their architect daughter or their locked up son. the candle might also symbolize a particular affinity for Chango and be lit in his honor. It’s not evil magic it’s just idol worship and has deep historical roots all over the world.

      i bought a yellow one and did the “prayer of jabez”.

      The next day,
      I got a callback about a job.
      yellow candles seems to work much faster when incorporated with prayer.

      1. I suggested above that African based religious practices were limited to Catholicism. I didn’t mean to. Most non-latino Black Americans are protestants. This back to your churchly days. For the Women’s Day Program, the sisters and mothers of the church often agreed to wear the same color. What color was it? Now google the phrase “Santeria women” and click on the images tab.

I live in an area with a large Hispanic/Latino population and sometimes, I will go to the Mercado as they are call, just in there today and this older lady had about 5 of these candles, in front of me in her basket as we were checking out and I was wondering why did she have so many. Almost every time I have been in there someone has these candles in their basket. The display of candles is at the front of the store when you walk in. I just always assumed that they were used by Catholics. A good friend of mine mom use to burn them for good luck before she went to the casino or bingo, until my friend started raising so much hell saying it was Witchcraft, I guess many Black Baptist think like this. When I see these candles, I always think about something you would see in a horror movie or when someone is casting a spell.

6. When I used to work at a grocery store Hispanic Catholic customers would buy these as prayer candles.There are some other candles similar to these used for voodoo,the occult,etc.Those don’t have images like Virgin Mary on them,though.

   3. I think you guys should lock up the DEFINITION of voodoo. The DEFINITION is ” AN AFRICAN RELIGION”. LIKE CHRISTIANITY IS A EUROPEAN RELIGION. BOUDDAH ID A CHINESE RELIGION, INDIA HAVE THEIR OWN RELIGION AS WELL. SAme intentions…. Be bless. HOODOO is the practice of burning candles and carrying stones. Everyone in their life have burned a candle or lit fire., played w water, air, & dirt which are the ELEMENTS of the EARTH. NONE OF IT IS EVIL…. UNLESS YOUR INTENTIONS ARE. ITS YING AND YANG. U CANT HAVE GOOD WITHOUT A SUCH THING BEING BAD …AND VICE VERSA

7. Those look like the candles used for spells. 😂 I wouldn’t say voodoo though. Probably some paganism that uses it for a cleansing or other rituals.

The flame of the candles put’s in the universe what you pray for, protection, good health, guidance, prosperity,etc. The burning of candles for spiritual purposes is a practice that dates back to ancient times. To these people, fire and flame are representations of the spark of creation. To light a candle is to brighten self.

         Individuals accepting these beliefs use the burning light of candles to unfold their divine potential. What follows is an examination of these beliefs and the meaning behind a lit candle combined with prayer and meditation. This examination will of course include a look into the significance and meaning of candle colors, For me I burn white candles here are some examples of color meaning.

         The white candle represents the highest level of consciousness. Burning a white candle in conjointment with a meditative state is to seek protection, healing and purification.

         The red candle is firmly rooted in the physical world. The burning of red candles is said to put one in touch with the power of the flesh. Red represents temporal pleasures. It symbolizes passion and love.

         The black candle is serious business. This is done when one wants to neutralize negative energies. The color black offers protection from illness, evil and the negative energy cast upon you from outside forces.

         These are just a few of the colors but do your research yourself so you’ll get a better understanding on this topic, remember to put out positive energy in the universe and it comes back to you. Peaceful living.
