Investigators say a man dumped a cup of what is believed to be semen on a woman at a Panera Bread in Tallahassee.
Tallahassee Police had little trouble making the arrest, because the suspect left his cellphone behind at the scene of the crime. The phone also had incriminating evidence on video.
Patrick Bruce, 28, is facing a charge of battery and another of committing an unnatural and lascivious act.
The woman told Tallahassee Police she and a friend were at the Panera on Ocala Road on Sept. 12, eating and doing homework, when a man walked in and started staring at her.
She told officers the man’s gaze made her feel so uncomfortable that she and her friend moved to another table.
Authorities said the man left, but returned a few minutes later with a plastic cup in his hand. The woman said the man went into the restroom for a few minutes and walked over to her table and said, “Here you go.”
At that moment, police said the man started pouring a substance on the woman’s head. She moved so that the liquid landed on her neck, shoulder and arm.
The man, according to the woman, told her he was sorry for spilling his drink on her and walked out of Panera Bread.
The woman realized the substance was not soda. She screamed. She and a manager tried following Bruce. They saw him get into a black Honda Accord and drive off.
Restaurant employees noticed the man had left his cellphone. Video on the phone showed Bruce masturbating into a cup in the bathroom.
Police arrested Bruce three days later.
Investigators say he has a history of indecent acts in public.
Police said Bruce was the focus of an investigation in June after a sports bar employee said a suspicious man rubbed his exposed genitals on her as he walked past her.
Witnesses reported seeing a similar black Honda Accord leave the scene.
During the investigation, the man’s mother told police he’s schizophrenic and not taking his medications. He was not arrested, only because the victim hadn’t noticed the indecent act. She was told by a co-worker who had witnessed it.
Bruce was also under investigation for an incident near the Florida State University campus.
A woman told detectives a man in a black Honda Accord had followed her home. The man got out of the car, dressed in gray clothing and purple latex gloves, and started to dance and roll around in the grass. He eventually drove away.

i’m starting to realize there are a lot of folks with mental illness out here.
mental illness isn’t just the obvious in the train station.
they aren’t simply talking to themselves or wearing some costume.
it is so much more than that.
i think we need to start highlighting mental illness within our forests.
there are many who look perfectly normal not taking their meds,
or should be taking their meds,
and one trigger away from violating you with nonsense.
bad enough,
the songs and tv shows promote this “cold image”.
it’s okay to hurt those aka be savage about it.
no way this jackal should have been out in public tormenting randoms.

I feel what you are saying Dee Jay, but medication is somewhat of a necessity, because there are some people with whom no matter how you try to talk with them…you can’t calm them down. That explosiveness is real and dangerous to themselves and those around them.
I’ve seen it happen on the streets and I have relatives who are bipolar. No one is saying have these people OD on these meds, but some depending on the severity of their mental issues, it may be warranted.

I agree with what you said and many of the individuals that they are throwing pills at have some other issues that can be rehabilitated with patience, resources, guidance, and a good training program in place. I see to many times that the individual that is hollering out for love, help, attention, or was in an environment where it was not corrected, but it is coming out or considered being displayed as aggression or not part of the norms.
The problem is not really with people taking meds or not, but the 50 states treating individuals properly. Our society and people are becoming too dependent and eager on popping pills, instead of the human element of being able to solve the problem with our senses and build our skills for properly maintaing each other and ways to make life less difficult. Many of this can come from many different factors from traits, norms, peer groups, environment, perception, etc. to why an individual may act out or is in a certain state of mind. Also, “wtf is going on with the world?” – Really? 😞 We using this scenario as if marketing is not doing a good job on making people believe that… 😑
Mental illness or not, he’d still get a savage beat down within an inch of his pathetic existence…I can’t deal…
