so i was put onto an app today and the first thing i thought:
THE FOXHOLE GOTS TO BE PUTS ON TOO!
you know i love to share the good stuff with you guys.
the app is called “citizen: safety and awareness”.
it might just save your life…
the basis of “citizen: safety and awareness” is that it tells you what crimes are happening around you.
it goes on all the 911 calls that are happening close to your location.
they also have a function to live record and font to others.
anonymously,
of course.
today we had a minor fire in our building.
the alarms were going off,
but security was being vague about what was happening.
one of my coworkers,
who put me on,
got the alert from “citizen” on their phone with:
– our work address
– what was happening in bold letters
– details that 911 has been called
i downloaded the app lickety-fuckin-split.
when i tried to put others on:
“I don’t want to hear what’s going on.
it will keep me paranoid”
UM!
YOU SHOULD WANT TO KNOW WTF IS GOING ON!?!
we live in a climate that can go 0 to 1000 real quick.
you’ll be the first to know if you’re around a terrorist attack,
save you from turning the corner to danger,
and ultimately keep your ass safe.
i have mine set to:
“while using the app”
all my notifications on
so ill propose it to the foxhole to keep ya’ll aware!
you know i want us safe with cheat sheets in these streets.

*unfortunately,
“citizen” is only available in new york and san francisco.
womp womp,
but i’m sure it will be nationwide soon.
Great idea for an app, but it’s only available in New York and San Francisco for now. I live in Georgia! Thanks anyway. I’m sure they are looking at expanding the app to other parts of the country.
^omg they need too.
i’ll add that as a disclaimer within the entry.
thanks cam!
