This entire Amanda Seales situation is so interesting to me.

strictly in my head,
amanda seales speaks to those who have been hurt and fed up by hurtful misconceptions.
she has a voice and is fully using it without any apology.
in black hollywood,
where many people have been ran over and stayed quiet,
it’s always interesting to see someone speaking up because we know how its gonna go.
many black folks don’t like it when you speak up against other black folks.
here is something i’ve learned throughout the years:

Some jackals in the black community expect to hurt you,
break you down,
and you are supposed to shut up and just take it.
They will try to fuck up your reputation and you’re not supposed to do anything about it.

if you’re a victim,
you’re turned into the villain or you’re soft.
if you speak out,
then you need to die or if you’re a black vixen,
you’re amanda seales.
you’re difficult,
hard to work with,
and a bitch.
in that sense,
you’ll be wrong in whatever reaction you give.
so we have to deal with racist white folks and opps within the black community.
my small issue with amanda seales is this…

Amanda Seales is one of those black sheep.

so one of my best vixen friends sent me something about amanda seales.
my personal thoughts on amanda is:

She is usually right about certain things but other times,
I think she can be the common denominator in her woes too.
Unfortunately,
within the black community,
you either play the game or you get ostracized.
So many other black folks had to go to white spaces to get “accepted”.

if you remember,
or don’t,
she spoke her truth about not being invited or recognized at any major black events.

i knew tiffany,
the character played by amanda seales on insecure,
was an aka (alpha kappa alpha) but it never defined her character to me.
i didn’t even know the 4 characters went to stanford tbh.
even though tiffany brings the bougie energy between the 4,
she isn’t someone that i pay too much attention to.
from what i know,
they never disrespected the aka organization on the show.
the akas (and the whole greek life) is having a fit now because aka “revolt“…
