your talk about odell’s sexuality don’t bother him none

i soooooooo wish odell did this gq magazine with the ramen off his head.
he is a super snack with his new haircut…

so odell beckjam jr has mastered the art of “leaving them talking“.
he knows folks talk about him so he gives them something to talk about.
when asked about the constant chatter about his sexual orientation,
this is what he had to tell “gq” for their august issue…

There was a period of time when a lot of gossip sites—specifically black gossip sites—would constantly say that you were closeted. They’d call you “excited” in a hot-tub photo with your teammates or simply just say you’re gay. How’d that make you feel?

I’ve never had an opportunity to talk about this. Honestly wasn’t offended. I’ve never once had no problem with anybody who has their own personal life that they live. I have friends who are gay. It was almost more funny to me. I almost messed with them even more. It’s like when someone gives me an ultimatum, I’m usually always going to go to the opposite way of what you want me to go. So when they would say that, I would almost mess with them even more. I have no problem with anyone’s sexual orientation.

I feel like posts like that only contribute to homophobia in the black community. The idea that someone must be gay—or that being gay is in any way shameful—because they’re dancing or have blond hair seems so small-minded.

Or because they’re “close with other men.” Even like little videos where they see me leaned back or something, they’ll say that I’m looking at a guy’s ass. And I’m like, “Bro! You don’t even know where my mind is at.” It was just a lose-lose. They’d see me with a white woman and be like, “Why don’t you be with any sisters?” I have no problem with any race. Love is love. If you’re attracted to somebody, you’re attracted to somebody. There was such a stigma built up, [as though] I don’t like my own women. It’s like, no, I don’t like anybody who annoys me. [laughs]

i loved how outspoken he was with this part:

You’ve talked a lot about media being unfair. Does it hurt worse when black media sites are unfairly critical of you?

Yes, it makes it worse when it comes from the black community. I feel like everything is a double standard. You want us to support the black community, and then you go out and bash black people for being happy. So someone can’t be happy, someone can’t be dancing. “Oh, he’s always around guys, he’s never around girls.” I just don’t want you to see what woman I’m with, and I don’t want you in my personal life. I always try to keep my personal life my personal life. I feel like I don’t owe that to anybody.

i can font that i agree with him.
black media can be hard on odell.
i think people,
in general,
are hard on those who are “different“.
those who go against the grain are the ones who get picked on the most.
it’s funny because they love talking about his antics,
but any gay/bi can tell you…

It’s the ones you least suspect

i like odell.
i think he’s sexy af and if he got down,
i’d let him do me really hard.
i think he’s very unproblematic and is doing a really “organic” him.

Why does that make folks so angry?

lowkey: i love these shots from the article…

drool.

  1. Sad so any people think what they have experienced is the world over. Therefore judge their experience of things as universal truth (on this comment section).

On another note, I agree. Very sexy man.

  2. Maybe it’s me, but those celebs who like to “leave them talking” never end up being straight. Calling them gay or trying the label these folks is unnecessary, obviously, but give me a break.

He’s being coy AND there’s never any women around him that you go, “they’re fucking”. You don’t even hear that on the low, so when there’s smoke there’s fire, at least when it comes to these celebs. Remember, entertainment and sports is filled with non-straight men.

He doesn’t owe us an explanation and you’re right, sometimes it’s the guys you least expect, but a lot of the time it isn’t. We’ve seen too many people act the same way over and over again and you know how it ends.

  3. Free spirit. Respect and applaud that. I think a lot of guys fall into that category but due to limitations in finance, societal pressures, etc. they stay in the box. Odell’s money frees him bc he is only relying on his abilities and business sense to be successful. From the time he did the espn nude issue, riding a hover board into the locker room then dropping his shorts to reveal rainbow briefs, to twerking outside a strip club versus going in and ballet dancing in the end zone, he has created a persona outside the box of what’s considered masculine. All the while his best friend Landry who he plays with in Cleveland from LSU is an introvert. I think the more we can be ourselves no matter how we roll sexually and with whom the happier we will be in the end. So what he drives an orange roll suv? If that makes the man happy, it shouldn’t bother anyone and I think now he’s really come into that truth and space. As long as he’s not hurting himself or anybody else, then what’s the problem? He’s saying why can’t I and why do you care?

  4. I think the money gives him the freedom to play with the minds of others.
Financial freedom provides you with the “I don’t have to prove shit to no one” mentality.

    1. Mika,

I agree with you on this and also, before Odell made it pro. He did something questionble with his friend, when he swallowed the sausage and they were talking about deepthroating. I also, think that he is not into Black women, especially with that comment he made in GQ and some of his past relationships.

      1. Because Black women are very closeminded on how Black men should be and how they should act.

They want hypermasculine Black Alpha males but complain about the misogyny they bring.

So I kinda understand but I could never lie down with a White person….outside of the social dynamics, I just dont physically find pale skin or Europeans that attractive. I desire melanin and full features.

      2. @Huh? Wait wait wait, he swallowed a sausage and was talking about deepthroating?! Where was I when this happened? U have a link?

        1. Google YouTube Odell deepthroat sausage. It is from his college days and when I try to post links, the comment does not load on here.

    2. Money DEFINITELY gives him that freedom. He also runs in different circles than us regular folks and probably is usually around folks with money. Look at Young Thug. He wore a dress in his album cover and people barely talk about that anymore. Some of the other rappers are painting their nails too. When you gain some sort of status and earning you get away with things that everyday people won’t.

  5. i always say Daddy in my head whenever i see him 😂😂😂

i love his confidence and how unbothered he is, hella attractive. i couldn’t be his friend tho. he would play around and i’d like “Boyyyy if you don’t quit playing with me!” LOL. them types drive you crazy Smh.

  6. Isn’t GQ a men’s magazine? I’m not one for conspiracy theories but he’s pandering to somebody with these images and thinly veiled speech. I find him very attractive and would ride his dick to glory. I like guys who are free to be themselves and are secure in their skin.

  7. I genuinely like this guy. He appears to be living his life on his own terms. That’s the ideal situation.
