The really sad part is the exploitation that the NCAA does of most Black athletes, they could care less about their education only the dollars. This entry further proves that these athletes need to get a paycheck because the school portion is a joke anyway. They are their to produce and make Billions all the while getting fucked by these academic institutions who always stress the importance of educatio, all the while never investing and doing real work to educate them. It just makes me think of all these fine ass pre-ballers who have participated in March Madness, I wonder how many can even write a complete sentence. Everybody can cheer them on to win a title for the school but after the fame, there is usually no fortune or degree. I guess we cant be surprised when the few who make it the big leagues end up as a forum post at the Foxxhole for their stupidity. We have to do better because this is beyond sad and pathetic. As Black people we need to stop putting the game/sports over everything else, I see this so much in the streets, barbershops etc. We put so much passion and energy into sports but not this same energy into education, politics and things to make life better for our people as a whole. As gays we have to do better and stop holding up the athlete as the end all be all of what a man is suppose to be, I am guilty as hell because I lust and love athletes as well, but our thirst for them has them believing that they only need their physical prowess to succeed in life.
There is not a lot of us in college to begin with. Outside of HBCUs a lot of the Black men in college are athletes and unfortunately a lot of those guys are functionally illiterate.
Dumb isn’t sexy. Inability to hold a meaningful conversation, to critically think about matters, is a turn-off–if you’re into a man beside his physical attributes.
Stick with divine nine members and future medical professionals–they have similar bodies and most can solve for X.

I have helped a few athletes with their assignments, and I do it out of the kindness of my heart to be honest. Being around athletes does not arouse me all that much, so I do not understand the fascination. They are normal people who just happen to play a sport. That is it.

The ones I have helped, I still talk to today. I liked one in particular tho. He is corner-back on the football team, and he is 5’9 175 pounds of pure muscle. I might text him today….you know…..just to see what’s up. I haven’t talked to him in nearly a month. The weather is not that nice and he is probably inside bored af. This is nothing new Jamari. As a former Graduate Teaching Assistant, I cannot not begin to tell you how many migraines I would suffer just trying to muddle through the stuff some of my students presented to me. I am a linguistic person who subscribes to the 3 C’s: CLARITY, CONTENT, AND CREDIBILITY. When I see such an obvious and blatant attempt, based on this paper, to allow a “Student-Athlete” to produce this kind of work, it just proves how much limited expectations we have placed on some of the most basic fundamental practices. Shame on UNC and all other universities condoning this type of illiteracy and continuing to perpetuate the athlete over academics mantra.

writing papers seems like it’s a test to see if you can complete something on time and make sense.
