The ultimate issue is not the Onlyfans performer it’s the overreach by the government. Onlyfans has its issues, currently, the platform is oversaturated with people who for all intent and purposes are scammers (unfortunately, although I do like him and follow him, I would put Kingnate in that category as well), whether free or paid subscriptions, they post 5 to 15-second clips just to turn around and tell you, you, have to pay more for the real content; in some cases anywhere from $25 to $50 for a 15-minute clip, which is far above the price for a subscription to a professional porn site with far more content.
No, the problem is the government coming in with its incredible powers and through intimidation and threats of legal action, shutting companies down under new overly broad laws designed in theory to address sex trafficking. Through intimidation Tumblr, a billion-dollar company folded under pressure from the government and ended up being sold for less than 3 million, all without putting up a public fight. I would also like to point out that the intimidation was so great that it’s been 5 years and there has yet to be a site to come in and take its place, freak twitter may come close, but I think at its height Tumblr still had them beat. If billion-dollar companies are caving to the pressure what chance does the regular citizen have, this idea that you can just start your own website and it’s all good is not true if you get in the government’s crosshairs? At any moment Onlyfans, just for fans, Pornhub, Xtube, jackd, Twitter, Facebook, Christian mingle, etc., could all be shut down with the snap of a finger.
At the end of the day, my problem is porn is either legal or illegal (I’m not talking about the stuff that actually is illegal). I want to be honest without too much information, but I support porn and masturbation and I know plenty of times that it has gotten me out of some bad situations. With porn being a multi-billion-dollar industry, I just wished more people would be honest about it whether you produce it, distribute it, or consume it; step up to the plate and defend it when it’s threatened.

This should be seen as the canary in the coal mine moment. Onlyfans isn’t long for this world. Smart sex workers need to start thinking of their backup plan. I don’t think everyone creating their website is smart. Their is security in numbers. I don’t see people sign up for a random website unless they are obsessed with the creator.
That’s very true but starting your own website for porn is NOT that easy. You have to find a web designer with a good theme so your videos don’t load slow. You have to find adult hosting and have security so your site doesn’t get hacked. Now you have to get a high risk merchant account cuz most merchant accounts don’t deal with porn so. The high risk merchant account which take a large percentage also they delay deposits. You will also have to deal with a large risk of chargebacks in the porn industry. You will also need SEO done to have your site rank high on google search. Having different publishers such as onlyfans, connect pal, just4fans makes it way easier. Onlyfans has created more black millionaires porn stars than the xxx film industry could ever do.

I was listening to the vergecast and they made an interesting point. One reason onlyfans has a better revenue split for creators than just for fans is that banks charge just for fans more because they are only for porn whereas onlyfans is technically not a porn site. Sure we can get mad at only fans all we want. This all goes back to our nations war on porn, sex and sex work. A lot of what is going on is happening because it’s so hard to engage in sex work and work with banks.
