Skin Deep the Series is about 6 men in Atlanta GA who experience life altering struggles pertaining to race, culture and sexuality in the gay community.

Nope.
It looks very interesting, and the racial aspect of the story line is what got me. Me and my friends are always debating the differences with race in the gay community, and how we really feel about black dudes who exclusively date white guys and vice versa, so I think will make for an interesting dynamic. I for one am glad no matter how small, that our stories are getting some type of go ahead, though the budgets are limited and the acting may not be the best, you have to start somewhere.

I saw this video a while ago and thought it was okay. The sex was the most interesting part of the preview to me but after reading the character descriptions on the website I think I’ll pass.
Why would I want to watch a series where every character is based on what race they’re attracted to?

First of all that’s not the whole of the character, it’s only one part of it that you noticed for some reason. Just like one part is also being gay. But mostly we intend to talk about race and culture like no other show as every had the guts to do before. Since the gay community is the only minority group that has within it every other minority, we decided to show it for what it is, a divided community by race and culture. Each character is based on stories that have actually happened to people. We are showing a truth to something that is ignored. It’s not only about what race someone is attracted to, but its also about why they aren’t attracted to another race. Or why they must keep their attractions to someone outside of their race a secret, and the pain that causes in their life. We also explore the difference between cultures and why some of those cultural things might exist, We also wish to broaden the minds of all who watch. This show will be like no other, that’s for sure.
But don’t be fooled, there is so much more going on in the characters lives as we progress with the show. And what you think is going to happen, probably is not.
