A woman who has been drinking her own urine and rubbing it on her face for over a decade claims it improves her skin and overall health.

Ruby Karyo, 30, from Glen Burnie, Maryland, has been gulping down urine and spritzing it on her face since she was 19 years old.

The controversial practice, known as ‘urine therapy’ has made Ruby the source of much derision, but she is determined to spread the word about what she says are its many benefits.

The writer and sales representative has even persuaded her boyfriend to try drinking his pee to quell his hair loss.

‘My dad told me about urine therapy when I was 19-years-old,’ said Ruby, a mother-of-one.

‘He said, “If you want to be a beauty queen use it on your face and your body.”‘

In order to take full advantage of the practice, Ruby not only drinks five ounces of urine twice a week, she also sprays it and rubs it into her face because she believes that it acts like a skincare product.

it took EVERYTHING in my power not to throw up fonting this story.
who is willing to try some “urine therapy”?
ya know,
as much fun as that sounds,
i’ll stick to salicylic acid and glycolic acid.
thanks tho!

  1. No I’ve seen flawless skin hers isn’t at all drink water no soda sugar drinks eat veggies this is what dermatologists recommend period

  2. Supposedly Gandhi advocated this too, but just NO. Everything about this chica is just off.

  3. Idk. I hear the old people down here in the south used to use baby pee for their skin. Never tried it (and don’t plan to).

  4. You gonna just running your new keyboard fronting about this golden shower therapy? 😂 JK.

  5. Ok…y’all may hate me for this but I don’t care lol. Urine has actually been proven to be beneficial for skin care. Even some face products have urine in them (a dermatologist told me that). Also, it wasn’t that uncommon centuries ago. Pam Grier even said she used a lil baby urine to clean her face to remain youthful and it removes toxins.
Now drinking it is overkill lol.

    1. That’s not entirely true:

Urea, sometimes referred to as carbamide, is produced in mammalian systems when proteins are broken down. It is excreted in the urine of mammals. The Urea found in cosmetics and personal care products is synthetic and not animal derived. In addition to its use in cosmetics and personal care products, Urea has a number of food uses, including its use as a fermentation aid in bakery products and wine.
