The Follow Up That Is “Michael Jackson” NOT Played By

well that was quick.
even resting peacefully, the king of pop can still make moves.
so remember ( x that disgusting trailer ) for what i thought was a movie,
but is really a show,
called “urban myths”?
they had a white actor “trying” to play michael jackson.
well it’s been pulled from the episode line up.
here is what happened via npr

How much criticism can a single half-hour episode of television sustain before it gets the ax?

On Friday, we may have gotten our answer: An episode of the British comedy series Urban Myths — which drew widespread complaints for featuring the white actor Joseph Fiennes as Michael Jackson — has been canceled by Sky TV before it could air.

“We have taken the decision not to broadcast ‘Elizabeth, Michael and Marlon,’ a half-hour episode from the Sky Arts ‘Urban Myths’ series, in light of the concerns expressed by Michael Jackson’s immediate family,” the European pay-TV company said in a statement. “We set out to take a light-hearted look at reportedly true events and never intended to cause any offence. Joseph Fiennes fully supports our decision.”

Those “concerns” had been expressed quite bluntly by the late singer’s family on Twitter.

The episode was to depict Jackson on a post-Sept. 11 road trip across the U.S. in 2001, with Elizabeth Taylor, played by Stockard Channing, and Marlon Brando, played by Brian Cox. Intended to be a “light-hearted look” at an event rumored to have actually taken place, the episode had been positioned as a satire by its creators.

“It’s a sketch about a story that could have been a legend or could have been true,” Fiennes told AFPTV in Rome early last year, though he, too, admitted he “was shocked” that he was cast in the role of Jackson:

“You have to ask them as to why they would want to cast me.”

The director of the episode, Ben Palmer, told The Guardian this week that the casting was based partly on the challenge of matching physical resemblance, partly on the basis of Fiennes’ performance.

“We were really looking for the performance that could unlock the spirit, and we really think Joe Fiennes has done that,” Palmer said. “He’s given a really sweet, nuanced, characterful performance.”

i guess they didn’t read michael didn’t want a snow wolf depicting him.
that actor better hope his career isn’t over before it started.
they are all dismissed for this nonsense.

  1. European broadcast are insensitive at what they promote, and although its a comedy show that Elizabeth Taylor character looks ready for the casket. Again, this is a small screen show and it doesn’t bother me, and beside the antics of Jackson parody from Scary Movie, and In Living Color. I’m sure most of the black english in jolly old England are humored.

  2. I don’t think Michael wanted to be white exactly, I do feel like he gave in though. He didn’t think he was handsome enough, so he got surgeries to fit the standards, which were white features.

  3. Michael often talked about how proud he was to be black. He supported black organizations including UNCF throughout his career. He was extremely proud of his African ancesty.Read his interview with Ebony.

Lastly if having kids with a non Black woman means you don’t want to be black then 70 percent of the black men in the entertainment industry including sports don’t want to be Black.

If having plastic surgery(especially nose jobs) and wearing weaves or wigs mean you don’t want to be black then 50 percent of Black entertainers don’t want to be Black.

I am happy that BS show has been pulled.

  4. Michael Jackson made sure that his children were not black by not mating with a black woman. And he proved that in the USA a poor black boy can become a rich white man. He said that it didn’t matter if you’re black or white but it must have mattered to him because he did every thing to change from black to white by changing his lips, hair, skin and nose. His behavior in that respect was disgraceful. He was a poor role model.

  5. i thought it was a british comedy parody not an actual bio? No different than the countless imitations we’ve seen of Mike on screen lol
