The Concrete Forest Shows Its Asses

Every day is a “just str8 azz” show in the Concrete Forest.

… and i must say,
the nicest drawz to accompany this daily programming.

If you are lucky (or not blind),
you will see some of the phattest tails walking into trains,
stores,
or even standing next to you…
…maybe bending over.

Usually it is young Foxes and Wolves…
But it still makes for good eye candy, right?
Even though the saggin’ movement died out when Jay Z started pulling his pants up…

Peep this Hood Boy Wolf tail in living motion…

I always say straight and gay Wolves have the nicest cakes.
Got me ready to do some…. licking.

Which Wolf is ready?

  1. I don’t understand this idea that sitting kids in front of a television and making them watch the Cosby’s will somehow change their reality? There are so many deeper factors that go a long with what it is to be a disadvantage kid living in a poorer neighborhood than just a lack of role models. There are deep, DEEP structural and institutional inequalities that exist that go beyond the effects of wearing one’s clothes a certain way or what they see on television. I wholeheartedly believe that forcing us to be more like the hegemonic majority will keep us oppressed because they will continue to make things difficult for us and we will continue to concede. White supremacy is real. And it will continue to persist as long as we look to them as the ideal and continue to marginalize ourselves as much as possible in order to please them.

I don’t believe kids today don’t know that doctor’s and lawyers are things they can become, its that on a day to day basis, their reality doesn’t allow them to worry about those things. It isn’t relevant. Not when you have to worry about taking care of your younger siblings or your own child, making sure you are fed on a daily, and that you have enough money to support yourself and possibly help your family out as well. I say, before one worries about tattoos and the way kids dress, they start by making sure there is equal access to things like health care, education, and good paying jobs first so that their basic necessities are being met.

    1. 1st, who said anything about sititing someone down to watch the Cosby Show? And don’t get it twisted – many people use TV as a baby-sittter & that it is used as a style-arbiter/purveyor of information/trendsetter/etc.

We’ve been dealing with racial inequality since we were brought here – it’s nothing new; it’s just a less overt (most of the time – Tea Party notwithstanding) And now we have class warfare as well. Whether you like it or not, this is the structure we have to deal with and work around. You can fight against it from the outside or break it down from the inside – your choice.

I HATE ties – but I need to wear them on my job sometimes. In my own business & dealings, I don’t care if you do business casual, but look neat. Sagging isn’t neat, imo. It’s a casual look – not business. And this isn’t coming cuz I’m brainwashed by Whitey. Those kids dealing with these day to day challenges are looking for a way out…like it or not, you’re judged on your appearance. Everyone isn’t gonna be a rapper or baller…you need to learn how to ‘code-switch.’

      1. Who said i wasn’t acknowledging that structural inequality exist or that we must fight against it? That is my whole argument.

I was making a general reference to the belief that changing what children watch on television will somehow change what they go through on a daily basis. Yes, people use television to babysit their kids but this often the result of not having the time or energy to invest in children due to long hours at work and few resources to take the time our to raise a child. What children see on television is one thing, but i doubt if it wasn’t reflected in their day to day that it would be relevant or paid attention to.

The issue is that we focus on topical things like modes of dressing or speech as somehow being the remedy for structural inequality. That somehow joining the system that is seeks to keep those who like you down will somehow make things better. It isn’t working. No one said we are not judged by our appearance which is typically the major argument against sagging pants. Sagging isnt neat because we say it isn’t not because of some innate reaction against it that’s been with us since we were walking around naked. A suit and tie is something we’ve to believe is “appropriate” because that is what we have been taught. Which means we can easily be taught something else as well. Sagging pants being done on your own time and outside of work when you’re going to the store or the mall or down the street… is their right as individuals. I don’t believe we should infringe upon people’s right to self expression that does not cause physical harm to themselves or to others. Regardless of if one likes it or not.

The problem to me is that we do not acknowledge that we’ve come to believe that there only one mode of success that involves working in a “business” sitting? Why are we not encouraging youngster to become their own bosses and start their own businesses? Businesses where they can operate within in their own bounds and within cultures that they can identify with? That would help end unfair hiring practices and help invest money more locally where it’s needed. Code-switching wouldn’t necessarily need to happen because they are operating within a culture they they grew up in and are familiar with.

  2. I always felt like sagging (along with overly baggy clothes, & the temporary style of no shoelaces) came from hip-hip, which came from prisons. ‘One size fits all,’ no belts or laces to limit trouble, and all that.So while yes, the structural issues of racism need to be addressed & should continue to be, the sagging thing (to me) projects a ‘f*ck it, I don’t care’ attitude & general sloppiness. I see kats in business casual gear or suits (when they wear them) sagging — the fvck?!

We’ve never made the rules, so we used to teach our children what to do in order to succeed, to get to the point where you can try to change the rules. It started with appearance because we’re judged on that first – especially when yt people tend to have lowered expectations of you already, and we often have to be twice as good to get half as far; why throw up more barriers? Most of us are not gonna be Jay-Z, Kanye, or LeBron…they can get away with it…now.

Same deal with the tattoos above your neck or on your hands. When the deck begins stacked against you, why throw out half your cards before you start?

I agree, though, that many haven’t been taught – because they may not see any ‘successful’ Black people besides the rappers & ballers. Or that’s their vision of success – not the neighborhood doctor or dentist, the dude who owns the barber shop/corner store/restaurant, the guys & gals w/the steady corporate or government jobs. That’s my biggest beef with EBT (as I call BET) – all you saw were videos…including Uncut – and that was before it sold itself to Viacom. They cut their news programs & most of the informational stuff. This [was] supposed to be for us & helping us. Even Centric is mostly music/reality/old sitcoms. C’mon son – really?!

And on a purely practical level, how the fugg can you walk in something like that? I see dudes all bow-legged tryna keep their pants up…it’s the most impractical ish I’ve ever seen. Most women I know hate it – only the gay/bi like it cuz you can see the cakes *shrug*

  3. Every now and again I’ll run across one of thi guys videos (bootiecandy) on myvidster and what not…I have a fetish for amateur and spy cams and hidden cams…These fall into those categories so I enjoy them…I even tried hacking into his paysite once.lol…Ill be damned if I pay 30dollars…If you wanna sag…Go for it…I never had the body for it…as a teen I would wonder why it never quite felt right or looked right on me…Looking back, I now knw it’s cuzz I inherited my mothers genes…Meaning I have hips! Not big hips, but I do have hips…It is what it is…If you think about it…This only looks good on guys who have certain builds…The ones who have hips, or big hip bones…I dnt knw how to describe it but it makes the pants flare out at the waist when they sag…Theres lots of examples of it in hiphop…I wish I could post pics to illustrate my point, but I’m on my phone…Oh well…

  4. #whoisjamarifox :
^its the gay man’s version of tits lol

Haha, yeah, that kinda makes sense. It does take a lot of effort to position your pants under the cuff or midway under your ass. Kinda like a female with a halter top. Just the thought of a dude in the mirror adjusting his “sag” before he walks out the door is hilarious, lol

  5. I just don’t get the point of wearing a belt. It’s almost like “butt cleavage”, and these young brothas’ are subconsciously sexualizing themselves. Regardless it’s a lovely view, and I’mma keep lookin’ til my heart’s content (:

  6. #whoisjamarifox :
^one thing I notice is black males do what they see artists do.
All these rappers are basically raising them.
They have no other role models to say this is not right… And when they do,
It is some cheese ball who brings the message in a corny way.
    Saggin pants,
    Hustling,
    Smokin weed,
And fuckin hoes is all a nigga knows…
    And it is sad.
I cannot begin to tell you all the kids out at like 3am,
Wandering the streets doing nothing in NY,
Is just a thing of the norm.
If you go down to 42nd street at that time,
It is nothing but well dressed kids looking for something to do.

I dont think role models are the answer though. Its a culture that exists, i believe, as a result of the system in which they operate in. Saggin’ pants is a style just like low cut shirts on fysh except we label it as “unappealing” because some authority figure said it is because it doesn’t look like what the greater white society is doing (remember they make the rules). People can smoke weed and be productive, go to Any College, U.S.A and you’ll see it. Hustling though, i believe is a product of low wages. Imagine is Mcdonalds was paying its entry level workers 15 to 20 an hour or other business offering full-time position at living wages. There would be no need to risk your life selling drugs because other opportunities for you to support yourself exist. Kids hustle because it’s fast money. You could make probably 2 weeks worth of working minimum wage in a day or an hour hustling on the street corner. So which would you choose?I think rappers and artists in general aren’t necessarily a problem and causing kids to go down the wrong path but more so a reflection of what’s going on in the lives of everyday people.

And what is there for kids to do for fun, really? Go to a club or a party, drink and/or smoke….the internet… or walk around and hang out with your friends. I can’t really think of any other alternatives? That’s really about it. I don’t know if i would call it sad but i just think there are other greater factors to look at that would explain that type of behavior.

  7. I have the ones in gif 1,2,3, & 5. I think everyone does. lol

They’re not short enough for me. The saggin’ movement died? I didn’t get that memo.

    1. ^only kids sag nowadays.
      that is fine.
usually it is some fine ass spanish Wolf with a nice rump saggin grey drawz…
or some Hood Wolf sagging cheeks… or OD down to his knee caps and walking like a penguin.

      I do a light sag.
Nothing where you can see the whole outline of my cheeks.

      1. Yeah, i’ll give you a half-cake. Nothing below the cheeks though.

But I’m still lost on the obsession with telling young men to pull their pants up be the older people? This energy could be put towards things that would actually help these men like ending structural racism in the areas of economics (that are keeping them from gainful employment and on the streets), education (that is labeling them as misfits and “less than”), and the court and legal systems (that are keeping them in jails). Pulling their pants up will not change any of these things and is simply a product of the grater hegemonic society dictating that the things black people (especially black males) do is something that should be looked down upon no matter what it is.
