St. Louis Rams player Terrance Ganaway isn’t ashamed to work a minimum wage job.

Ganaway, who just completed his rookie season, has been working at a Jimmy John’s sandwich shop in Waco, Texas. His strange job choice during the offseason has everyone wondering why he applied. Ganaway, who played in three games as a running back last season and made the league minimum wage of $390,000, has a couple of reasons.

Ganaway posted them on Twitter.

Ganaway became a Jimmy John’s employee after he posted ‘was anyone in Waco hiring’ on Jan. 15. Someone told him to come work for Jimmy John’s and shortly thereafter he was behind the counter. Ganaway works Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, from 5-9 p.m.

“I just wanted to stay fit, stay out of trouble, and really just try to save money and not spend a lot of money,” Ganaway told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “Got to learn everything on the menu. It’s something that I’m learning every day. You’ve got to know your sandwich.”

  1. If he can’t manage off of $390,000 and make it last for the whole year then he has too much going on and Jimmy Johns won’t help his issues

  2. Maybe he will open a franchise when his playing days are over and he will know the business from the ground up

  3. No shade, but maybe I am missing something. If you earn a six-figure salary, have a lot of free time, and want to lead by example, then you may want to do some volunteer work. I don’t see how tackling a minimum wage-paying part-time job, that someone who really needs could have, proves anything. DIfferent strokes for different folks, I guess.

    1. It’s off season BBB and he is unemployed. No money will be coming in for him for the next 5 months. I’m sure he lives in a big house with an electric bill, and not to mention that he has kids too. Volunteer work does not pay, and since he is an pro athlete he is required to do a certain amount of volunteer work anyway. He wants the extra money.

      1. True! I was going to say he should use his name for promotional gigs/ endorsements/ charity work, but I am not sure he has built a name for himself to use it for lucrative deals yet. But like the next man, everyone has bills to pay, so if the alibi is coming for good reasons we cannot knock him! Plus who know, the sandwich bar might make him the ambassador and face of the brand for adverts, etc. Now where’s my sandwich?!

  4. And I LOVE Jimmy Johns! I always get their gargantuan sandwich! Those kids in Waco are lucky to get a good sandwich served by a good HOT black man!

Fathers are sexy to me too!
