About That “Thank You” Email I Had To Write

i always believe in sending a “thank you” email after an interview.
hell,
i believe in sending one to everyyone i meet.

i usually send it the day after.
the problem with the “thank you email” is how impersonal it can be.
yes,
we want the job,
but we forget to add our personalities in it.
as soon as i got up today,
i wrote the email to the head hunter vixen i met with on wednesday.
this is what i fonted to her…

subject line: thank you for the interview | jf

dear hh,

i hope all is well with you on this friday. i wanted to send this email yesterday,
but my debit card got compromised and i spent the rest of the day getting that resolved. i very much enjoyed speaking with you on wednesday, 5/17, about the opportunity you presented. my past experience as an executive assistant would be a great match for what you described at ( insert company here ). i bring with me to the position an extensive knowledge of the key factors of administrative work and the strong communication skills it would take to handle a receptionist position. i most definitely feel i would be an excellent fit for that role.

thank you for taking the time to speak with me after ( insert referrer here ) recommended me to you. if you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me by phone or email. i look forward to hearing from you about this position and any others you may have available.

best regards,
jf

she responded about 15 minutes later:

hi jf,

it was such a pleasure meeting with you and i greatly look forward to working together very soon! i hope everything was resolved with your debit card!!

thanks,
hh

since it was a day later than my usual,
i wanted to let her know the goings on in my world.
now it is up to her on what she wants to do next.
i presented me and showed her that i was interested.
we shall see what happens next.

  1. I believe in you and love your letter it shows just enough of your personality for them to see you but is very very professional. This is the level of personal confidence I need to get to.

  2. Good luck Jamari, I really hope you get the job. I’m also sorry to hear about that debit card situation. That was a nice thank you letter and thanks for saying we could use it, because I am lol. That letter was very nicely written, fingers crossed I hope you land this job, and the doors will open up from that point on for you.

  3. Good luck JF! That sucks about your card though, that must have been a nightmare. I’m thinking of taking the advice of one of the foxholers in using only credit for transactions and then just sending the money over. I’ve heard it somewhere else too. Hang in there!

    1. ^all credit card everything for 2017!!
debit cards are the devil because that is your money you gotta wait to get replaced.
at least with a credit card,
      that is their money LOL

thanks on the well wishes as well!
