trinity gay,
was gunned down in a shoot out in a restaurant in kentucky.
here is more on the story via cnn

The teenage daughter of U.S. Olympian Tyson Gay has died after an early morning shooting in Lexington, Kentucky.

Gay, a former world 100-meter and 200-meter champion, confirmed the death of his 15-year-old daughter Trinity to CNN-affiliate WLEX.
“She didn’t make it. I’m so confused,” Gay told WLEX Sports Director Alan Cutler. “She was just here last week for fall break. It’s so crazy. I have no idea what happened.”
The events that took Trinity’s life occurred around 4 a.m. Sunday, according to Lexington police. They said a group of men in two cars opened fire on each other. Trinity was shot in the neck. Police said she was not a passenger in either of the vehicles.
The men who were firing on each other fled the scene.
Gay was taken to UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital in a private vehicle, where she later died, police said.
Lexington police believe they have located one of the two cars involved in the shootout, a gray Dodge Charger. Authorities said they are questioning two possible suspects.
Police are still looking for the second vehicle, which witnesses described as a dark sports car with tinted windows.

  1. this is such a sad story. so many people are blaming her and her parents instead of the actual killers…crazy…the whole Lexington/Louisville community is so small. My sister ran track against her at the Junior Olympics. I just cant believe it. Rest in peace baby girl

  2. You are not alone, Jamari.

I am weeping for this world in 2016.
No one should be asking why she was out there. They should be voting for elected officials to finally do something about this damn gun epidemic sweeping the U.S.

I read a statistic one day that boggled boggles my mind. There are roughly around 310 million guns total circulaying in the U.S. and roughly 300 million Americans total.
Which means there is a gun for nearly every American in total. Smh.

Condolences to Tyson Gay and his family.

  3. All of this gun violence is just getting on my nerves. No one is safe anymore going anywhere. SMH. Yes, she may have been out late, but this is not her fault. It is still a tragedy regardless. RIP Trinity

  4. I don’t have any children but I could imagine that this must be hard for Tyson. All of this senseless violence and death has to come to a stop. It’s not doing our community any favors by hurting and killing those who are next to come up in the new generation.

  5. How about ask why are they shootin? Why does it seem easier to get a gun than a passport, job, drivers license etc …

    1. ^And you have these idiots out here shooting at one another knowing damn well they can’t shoot straight!

      1. I feel you on the guns Tony. At this point, the smart thing to do is to not be out at that time around people you don’t know, it’s just too dangerous out there these days. I’m not going to blame this on parenting either, but gone are the days where one can feel safe anywhere anymore, especially after midnight. It’s just out of control. I’m glad I’m an introvert,Just staying inside and avoiding crowded areas is good for me!

R.I.P young lady and condolences to the family. Didn’t this happen to D.Wade’s relative too? She was a mother of 3 and the same thing happened to her, but I believe in the evening. Jeez that’s just wrong.

  6. I have seen comments from people blaming her parents because she was out that early or that late.We DK,she ran track one person mentioned she could have been getting breakfast early before going to a track meet.About a month ago my cousins, a 16 year old and 23 year old, got up at 5 am to take to take a neighbor to the airport for a 7 :30 am flight. They stopped by Denny’s.So if there had been a shooting outside of Dennys I guess people would be calling my aunt a “horrible mother” too.People are so quick to judge.
RIP I am happy he got a chance to spend time with her last week, never imagining he would never see her again. Her mom said she wanted to be a doctor.😢

  7. I read about this earlier earlier and yeah this is such a sad and unexpected story (smdh). RIP to Trinity and definitely prayers to Tyson Gay and the entire family.
