Rappers? Gay? Please Stop The Lies.

The Game
(who with a top selling album looks smangable as of late)
seems to think opposite.

And seems to have a lot of info about this topic…

For as long as there has been rap, there has been rumors of gay rappers. While speculation regarding the sexuality of some of hip hop most famous artists are always under question, rapper The Game recently did an interview with VladTV where he stated that he doesn’t have a problem with gay people; his issue, however, lies with closeted gays.

“I think there are several rappers that are in the closet and gay, and see those are the type of gay people that, the only type of gay people that I have a problem with. I don’t have a problem with gay people. Like, Beyonce should’ve said, ‘Who run the world? Gays,’ because they’re everywhere.”

“Be gay, you can do that. Game don’t have a problem with gay people. Game has a problem with people that are pretending not to be gay and are gay because the number one issue with that is that you could be fooling somebody and you could give them AIDS and they can die and so that in the closet s— is real scary.”

“So, we’ve got to get into the real seriousness of it and it’s just not fair to other people. It’s not cool to be rapper so If you gay, just say you gay. Be gay and be proud.”

The Game caught some heat earlier this year after he tweeted:

“Never ONCE said i had a problem wit gay people. Yall straight, well maybe not STRAIGHT but u know what the f— I mean ha ha. Be as GAY as you wanna be, just stay on yo side of the street…. but I’M a “P—Y” man FO LIIIIIFE (Mak-10 voice).”

Back in 2009, rapper N.O.R.E. did an interview with VladTV where he confirmed that there are indeed mainstream, highly successful gay rappers out there that he’s worked with, but you won’t catch him naming names:

“I have recorded, not with people who are openly gay, but people who are closet gays. I’ve got songs, you know, Google it. I’m positive I have worked with a gay rapper. There is [a successful gay rapper out now] and he won’t get me to say the name. Once he’s a success story to the point where he can’t be stopped, then yeah, he’s gonna come out the closet… It’s not a big secret, everybody is gonna be like, ‘Oh yeah, I knew that.’”

Felicia Pearson, an openly gay actress who starred in the hit series ‘The Wire,’ also said that there are more gay people in the industry than people think:

“I can’t give nobody’s names out man, I might f–k their career up man. It’s the whole f–king industry for real — I wouldn’t ever do that to them like, ‘Yo, he gay and all that,’ even if I’m mad at you. I’m not no hater. When you ready, you ready. Me, I’m living my life baby. [It shocks me,] I be like ‘Wow.’ I be like ‘I knew it, but just yeah,’ and they be like ‘Yeah, come on.’”

This is definitely not surprising but the Hip Hop community is still very much homophobic. Even though we’ve come a long way when it comes to accepting the LGBT community over the last few years, it would still be very hard for a successful rapper to come out of the closet.

Why does Game want to know this?
Is there some cash prize in the bounty of all the gay rappers?
I don’t know about anyone else but nothing shocks me anymore.
I’m sure the hardcore Hip hop stans would love to know their favorite rapper has been sniffing around Foxholes (or have Wolves sniff around theirs)…
…. but who cares at this point?
Is it that serious?
Maybe it will change the world somehow, but… I doubt it.
In a world of uber-masculine persona,
Hip hop and gay go together like oil and water or… Chris and Rihanna.

I say ex nay on the Hip hop gay.

No one cares… or do they?

  1. I don’t have a problem with gays, rappers, gay rappers, or DL men, but I do have a problem with sluts.
I don’t care if you have AIDs and is DL either. If people weren’t sluts, then there would be no passing of AIDs. Protection would be redundant. Unnecessary. You can be DL, but that doesn’t mean you sleep around with everyone in the phonebook. That’s just shady. Don’t mix the two up.
I personally think AIDs and STDs are quite necessary. Without them, certain people will never learn. Even with them some never do. *sigh*

    1. I know he’s not one of those drop dead gorgeous mixed dudes, but his intellect and word play does something for me. lol

  2. Blah blah blah. Same shyt over and over again.

In the mean time… let us marvel at the Adonis named The Game, shall we. There is no reason for a man to be that fine. Absolutely none.

    1. yes he is vision. i don’t know what took me so long to realize it. it was like overnight, it just hit me how sexy he was.

      1. I had a similar reaction to the “Malo” thing.

The Game is big and fine and masculine. His body is in shape but not cut up (i.e. ideal). That slight thug appeal is probably what’s the most fascinating about him.

Plus he’s my type: Crazy lol.

  3. You know it really, really grinds my gears when people assume ALL gay or D.L. men are somehow the root of AIDS. I can’t speak from the perspective of an out dude, but 99.9% of the d.l. dudes I’ve encountered have been very serious about protecting themselves.

Then these days everyone classifies themselves as d.l., even though they’ve never even seen a woman naked, let alone sexed one. I call that closeted.

No one says anything about all these straight people who only care if the woman is on the pill or not, or even worse they still use the pull out method.

    1. Jay: You ain’t lying. I’m a bi, dl and closeted dude but I’ve haven’t had unprotected sex of any kind in over 20 years. For the record, I’ll be 39 this month. The notion that DL men are the reason for new HIV cases is the biggest fraud perpetrated on the public since “compassionate conservatism.”

    2. That bothers me too.
I hate when people say that…
… or they look at you like you are some black plague because you fuck men.
I can name plenty of straight HIV+ contenders who caught the disease fucking each other unprotected.

  4. This topic is nothing new but for some reason, it keeps getting revisited. Rumors of gay rappers go back to the days of Eric Sermon, EPMD, Puffy and Mace (thanks Wendy Williams) and the list goes on and on.

Personally, I find it hard to believe that these “closeted gay rappers” can stay behind doors all this time and not be outted, especially in this day and age of 24hr media, blogs and the like. This is a “story” that needs to go away.
