Job Offers, Twitter Venting, Light Flirting, and A Lot of God

tumblr_nw7r03O6G31s8gtxto1_500can we talk bout God real quick?
we went from porn,
dragging,
and now God almighty.
anything goes within the foxhole…
so this morning,
i was absolutely over it at work.
i hopped on twitter to vent and wrote…

Screen Shot 2016-04-07 at 7.55.32 PM Screen Shot 2016-04-07 at 7.55.24 PM#isaidit
i wake up daily dreading going to work.
i have spoken about it many times.
the job hunt is annoying as hell.
so i sent my people a text asking them to pray for me.
i got a lot of responses after saying they would.
well about 15 minutes after,
a client of my job decided to pay me a visit.
we got to talking and i was completely honest with her.
i let her know how i was feeling and why.
i didn’t slander my job,
but i told her how i’d like to leave.

“what do you want to do?”

“well i want to work in the entertainment industry.
i would like to work at a talent or modeling agency.
it would be a dream of mine to find and work with new talent.”

that would be my day job as i pursue my career.
at least my paws would be halfway in the door:

“i could see you doing that.

after she says that,
she tells me how she is looking for an executive assistant.
it was also accompanied by a wink.
tumblr_nyz5piVE7y1rehms2o1_250she isn’t in entertainment,
but it was an offer for another job.
before she walked away,
she said:

“i want you to follow your dreams though.
look into what you want to do.
i can see you doing great things within entertainment.
i would love to help you,
but i want you to be happy.
if you want the position,
just let me know…”

as i thought about it,
i would be going from one desk to the next.
i want to do more.
the only thing is,
i will be making more money.

would i be happy?
will i be fulfilled?

tweeted shortly after:

so after her,
i saw another client in the hallway on the way to the copier.
we started to talk.
i tell her how i’m looking for something new.
this time i’m more detailed about entertainment.
she tells me go onto her company’s website,
but she will keep her ears open for entertainment jobs.

tumblr_nzzq77ysMJ1rjhl16o2_r1_540 after her…
i know…
an older snow vixen comes up to me with the heavy flirting.
i haven’t seen her in a while,
but she is always nice when she comes to the office.
she randomly buys me a juice,
banana,
and tells me she will also look out for me.
made sure to tweet about that:

Screen Shot 2016-04-07 at 7.57.14 PM
after that,
i had a much better day.
it feels good to know you got favor by the most high.
i’ll try to be more patient and let him guide me.

Al3jg

please continue to pray for me.

  1. Jamari, it’s often scary when making such a move. Even though you hate your current job and the people there, remember you have wanted to leave for a long time. Opportunities like this one don’t come like this often. Get your resume to her right away; do not wait. Giving her your resume doesn’t mean it’s a done deal. Of course, she will review it; you will go over the details involved with the job, such as the benefits, requirements of the job, etc.; but this is a real time opportunity. And giving her the resume let’s her know you are serious.

Two immediate benefits: the additional money may be sufficient for you to get rid of Mi so you won’t need her monetary support and will allow you to have peace again at home. And, you will remove yourself from the uncomfortable environment with work wolf and the jealous co-worker who is always undermining you.

    Wishing you all the best!

  2. Before you leave check out everything, get the job offer in WRITING because having work in Human Resources i can tell you if it’s not in writing in the business world it’s like it didn’t happen. Once that’s finished give your current job two weeks notice and route…You never know maybe the networking opportunities will be there…Remember Puff Daddy started out as an intern and look where it’s taken him. Oprah started out as a news anchor at a local tv station…NOTHING is impossible…CHASE your DREAMS and NEVER SETTLE…GOD is too good for us to settle out of fear

  3. I believe you should jump at the chance, but also outweigh the pros and the possible cons of the situation before you do so, which is something a lot of people fail to do because they believe they may not get an opportunity again. I know you have been wanting to make a mark in the industry for a while now. It is up to you tho…

  4. JAMARI, TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY! Act quick because opportunities don’t wait. This is NOT the time to be in your head. There is NO point in staying at this job IF YOU HAVE THE CHOICE. Let’s say it’s the worst case scenario, you hate it, well the only difference is you get paid more for hating it just as much, and you get EXPERIENCE that you can use to continue to upgrade your life. If it doesn’t go your way, use the opportunity to your advantage, and get out to something you really want. The best case scenario, you enjoy what you do. She’s saying you won’t enjoy it because she doesn’t know what you’ve been through with Liar Liar and Work Wolf, that’s greatly why you don’t like this job, among other things, well, they won’t be there anymore and you get a chance to start fresh. YOU NEED THIS! Do you have her contact info? Contact her and see what the job entails. If it’s an upgrade, I really think you should take it Jamari. I know I’m just starting out myself, but when an opportunity arises, and it’s legitimate, you need to bite the bullet! If it’s really not right for you you can always decline the offer, but get your foot in the door first! She won’t wait for you!
I say CONTACT HER! You need something new and fresh anyway, I think this will be good for you. Sure it’s not your dream, but you need to stay on your hustle boi!

    1. ^ill make an effort to speak to her when I see her d.
      thank you for this comment!
this didn’t just happen by chance.
i just didn’t want to jump into something that i will hate.

      1. I absolutely understand. Even if you say “yes” right now, you still have time to say “no” before everything is settled, so you will still have time to think on it and do your research but at least your foot will be in the door, and you will have a seat at the table until you are sure about your decision.
You will know if it’s not right for you, trust yourself, and do your due diligence of research if you can. From my viewpoint, I can’t see how it can get worse for you aside from not having a job at all, so it’s almost a no brainer, but you know your situation much better than me.
Do you think you would hate it? Or just not sure? What are your reservations about?

  5. Jamari I say go ahead and take the job. I do understand your feeling of not doing the same thing again and go through the similar issues but baby boy you got to get up out of there. Every job has it cons but sometimes those cons are just too much to deal with like it is at your current job. I could be wrong but in a way I also think it might be fear holding you back from going to another job, don’t let it. Your time has come to an end at this current job and it’s time to move on to bigger, better things, and hey you might get there and love it. So, please go ahead and take her up on the offer. Life, is too short to be unhappy and depressed all the time.

  6. Won’t he do do it?he may not come when you want him, but he’s always on time.

Sorry couldn’t help but to pull out some old black church sayings, I’m proud you are taking charge and putting your wants out, now just wait what God has in store for ya.

    1. ^right!
he came 15 minutes after i asked where was he.
      mikey i was blown away!!!!
God keeping showing me he is in my life.
its the animals that aren’t loyal.

    2. Forgot to add this to the above comment , I do understand your hesitation to jump at the offer since the job you’re at now started off good than it went to hell ( and the messed up thing is people who didn’t expect like Mr. Green straying showing their true colors) but with that being said life is about risks you gotta take some to get results.

  7. I will pray for you. But I’m contemplating on whether you should take the executive assistant job or not.

    1. ^thank you lin.
im contemplating because i don’t want to go to something to be a slave again.
especially just to escape this job to the next.
she has always been really nice,
but it’s different when you work for someone.

  8. When you tell God what you want he does answer but now you have to act. Ask the first lady how long she wants someone. This one could be the exit to your current situation until the next thing opens. God answered your prayers now walk through the doors he has opened

    1. ^ill talk to her when i see her again t.
i really do want to go because im completely over this,
but I don’t want to leave a frying pan to jump in a pot.

      1. ^That kind of thinking will keep you from leaving. You can’t think of it like that, J.
Look at it as a chance to escape the hellhole you’re in now. It’s taking a chance, but it could be the door that opens the way for you to achieve the dream of working at that talent/modeling agency. It’s a risk we take when we leave one job for another.
I doubt it could be as bad as it is now with liar liar and work wolf (didn’t want to mention him) walking around. You don’t need that.
Don’t wait for her to contact you. If you know how to reach her…reach out to her. At least let her see you’re interested.

  9. J, I’m 100% with you on this bro! I feel the SAME way! I’m so ready to be done with this current job! I like what I do, but I want my loooooooong hours to be invested back into my dreams; not someone’s strategic plan. I really want to pursue music and music biz opportunities, but I’ve been doing this for so long that it almost feels impossible. Oprah said it BEST though! Check out this video! It really touched my heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dp_cmLfJZ1w

    1. @over it…it’s NEVER impossible. Those people at your job suck the energy out of you and want you to give up your dreams. Don’t allow them the opportunity to do that or take that from you. It may take you some time, but you dreams can be achieved. Take advantage of any opportunities you see. If you ovecome the mindset that it’s impossible…you’re on your way man.

  10. She basically was saying that the job is yours if you want it. I say take it and get the hell out of where you are now. You are miserable and stressed to no end where you are now…and that’s not healthy. I have always said that when I hate to get up to go to work, it is time to leave that job. I am in that place now, and I am looking to leave. I used to love my job, but I can’t stand it any longer. The management doesn’t know how to manage and I have never worked with a bunch of clueless people as I do now. It’s frustrating when someone swears they are right and you have to show them otherwise…and they get paid more than you! LOL
This is an opportunity for you to move on to bigger and better things…for now. You can use that new job as a springboard for other things once you get there…hell, you may even like it more. Use new contacts to open more doors for yourself. I am sure this chick will help you. But you REALLY need to leave where you are now, J…and the door has been opened for you to exit.

    1. ^you could be right.
this literally fell in my lap.
      when i see her again,
ill ask her what the job entails before i give her my resume.
