it was a karen, karen, karen, karen, karen, karen civil weekend

when i was worked at my last job,
karen civil came through to get interviewed on a platform.
i heard her name in the industry forests but for the life of me,
i don’t know what she did.
so i asked folks at the office:

‘What does Karen Civil do?’

“Ummerrraaahhh…”

…and it led to mad stuttering and confusion.
over the weekend,
karen civil was the talk of the house.
clubhouse,
that is.
she was exposed for allegedly jerkin’ acts for their money with promises of insert what here”.

now i don’t know karen civil or if she did all she was accused of but as someone in the industry

Ya’ll got to be careful.

i’ve seen many a rising star fall over alleged schemes.

I knew of a male singing act who fucked producers for studio time.
he got smutted out and s
till ain’t pop and still suckin/fuckin to get put on.

When I did share the foxhole with what I thought was “movers and shakers”,
only because I desperately needed help,

I was met with “Ima help you get put on” and no one came through with their promises.
Many got jealous of what I accomplished with the foxhole.

I worked as an assistant for a stylist who got scammed by a rapping jackal.
All they needed the rapper to do was shout out the clothing company on their IG.
We stayed up nights going back and forth with him and his people,
all while scouting locations for his “come back”.

Instead of repaying in kindness,
he posted the preview pictures on his IG and kept all the clothes/jewelry.
The stylist blew up their phone and got sent to VM.
The clothing company was on their neck and they ended up getting lowkey blacklisted.
The worst part is the stylist might have been a scammer themselves.
They didn’t pay the photographers for their time being wasted,

everything is a hustle from some of these folks in this business.
many times,
folks get scammed because they are desperate or idiots.
sometimes both.
contracts are “trust” and “your word”.
this industry is filled with jackals and hyenas who are all fighting for the top spot.
it’s really easy for some random to be a “something” on rih’s social media.

Take a picture with a few celebs
Wear nice clothes
Be everywhere in stories
Rent a few expensive cars
BOOM: an “Entertainment Guru” is born

that is one of my biggest issues with “clubhouse”.
everyone is a “something” on there but has no pull or true success.
it’s folks who like to hear themselves talking tbh.
i was looking through most of the profiles in the karen room and it was:

Producers who got “Lil Cookie Crook” dropping with new music “soon”
“I work with talent and make them into stars”
All the IG thots who fuck their way into certain circles
Mixxy folks who do absolutely and every bit of nothing

many people fall for this and it continues to baffle me as to how.

ya’ll need to check credentials,
resumes,
peep success stories,
and stop giving money up because they “look” like they can make you pop.
they connected to “such and such” so they’ll put me on too.
do you know how many fall for this shit?

You gotta be real cognizant of who you decide to work with.

You gotta be real cognizant of who you decide to give your money to.

like i fonted,
i don’t know karen civil but this was a lowkey ted talk for those looking to get in the industry.

lowkey: i feel like folks gotta get scammed once or twice to wake tf up.

  1. A good business minded person doesn’t run their business on “trust” and “your word”. Sign this contract to protect my name and business, your word and trust goes with your name on the contract where we don’t have to go to court. You come to my studio and take pictures. You can post them on your IG and put that link on there. You not walking out of here with merch that I have to vouch for. Anything can happen, they can get robbed for it or they can ghost you once they get the merch and say you gave it to them as a form of payment or trade.

Jason Lee is just as Messy as Wendy when it comes to telling stories about people.

  2. I’ve never gone out of my way to follow or even pay attention to Karen outside of when that annoyingly terrible white woman Julz mentioned her in a negative light.

But I will say this I find it interesting who rises very quickly to social media fame based on pretty much nothing. lol

  3. -I knew of a male singing act who fucked producers for studio time.
he got smutted out and still ain’t pop and still suckin/fuckin to get put on.

Wow, it hasn’t gotten through to him by now? I watched a video about how in modeling, not to sleep with a photographer or else word will get around and it’ll become expected of you. Same for making a club appearance and sleeping with the promoter.

-I was met with “Ima help you get put on” and no one came through with their promises.

I used to fall for that. They wouldn’t say it in the comments, they’d email you with a legitimate time to meet XYZ. People are full of talk.

-Producers who got “Lil Cookie Crook” dropping with new music “soon”

Lil Cookie Crook had me cackling!

-Mixxy folks who do absolutely and every bit of nothing

I mean…that’s what being a socialiate is, right?

  4. Wow Jamari it seem as if you have some STORIES! you should really think about doing a story time series.
