Guess Who Is Playing Storm In The New X-Men?!

yeah don’t get too excited x-men fans.
your wish has not been granted.
alexandra shipp will be returning as storm in the next x men.
this is what deadline had to say…

Fox has formalized plans for Dark Phoenix, the next installment of the X-Men franchise. This all just happened, but they’ve set Simon Kinberg as director (long rumored), and the studio set a release date of  November 2, 2018. Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, and Kodi Smit-McPhee are all reprising when production begins in Montreal.

At the same time, Jessica Chastain is in talk to join the cast as the main villain, Shi’ar Empress Lilandra.

i mean…
she as barely in the last one.
they like to play storm in these movies anyway.
she comes on screen,
does some super power,
and flies off into the background.
tbh,
i’m more excited to see phoenix.
i love how they hinted about her in the last x men.

she is one of my favorite x men characters next to rogue,
wolverine,
and storm.

Am I the only one who likes the Marvel movies better tho?

i feel they put more “effort” into them.

lowkey: after the tears i shed in “logan” the other night,
i will miss hugh jackman.

  1. speaking of the X-Men. They Have a new show coming this fall pn Fox called, the Gifted. Hppe its better than those lame movies.

  2. IMAN would have made an amazing Storm – she had the presence and could fulfill what the role would have required.

Singer was horrible – he did spend too much time shooting Hugh’s ass to give a damn about the actual story. And if you don’t know the tea – he spent too much time going after underage boys so I don’t think Hugh was young enough for him – he is in court proceedings right now over the underage boys he had in his home running around in speedos (and some of them not even wearing those)

Hopefully the X-Men series can truly get the reboot it deserves without the politics and the over use of Wolverine – it was such a waste of movies to have Hugh hogging all the fucking screen time. But how many times can this series be rebooted before people start losing interest??

    1. I forgot about that! I thought he (Singer) got off (pun intended) from those charges because you didn’t hear anything about it. It was like it got swept under the rug.

I don’t think the X-Men movies will get the justice they deserve until they are taken away from Fox. They have fucked up their comic book movies, from X-Men to FF.

  3. aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I am crying my fucking eyes out. I DONT LIKE HER AS STORM!

  4. I always wonder why they dont ask a dark skin woman to play storm but anyway I dont like Alex period she ruined her career for me after that Aaliyah movie I dont see it for her at all and it sad how make storm look in movies like she weak when storm is the second most powerful X men

    1. I know, I want some bad as bitch ala Naomi Campbell in her hey day.

  5. It’s way too bogged down in Hollywood politics where they are giving Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, and Michael Fassbender too much screen time because they’re more famous.

Hugh Jackman got way too much screen time in the past Xmen movies.

The Xmen are a team! Mystique and Magneto are not meant to be central characters.

I don’t want any of the cast and crew fucking with Xmen ever again to be honest. No directors, producers, actors, no one.

They still haven’t given us the Xmen movie we deserve after damn near 10 movies. It’s just a money grab smh

    1. @Jay…you speak the truth. The problem with these films is that you have people that don’t really know the material. Brian Singer said that he read trade paperbacks to “get up to speed” on the X-Men before he directed the first film. Prior to that he didn’t know anything about them. Then you get screenwriters that don’t know anything also, and that reflects on the screen.

Hugh Jackman got so much screen-time because Singer was lusting after his ass. Notice how in most of the films, we get half nude shots of him so much. And then in DOFP we got the naked ass shot. Singer wanted that man. LOL

Since they were popular characters after the films came out, Hollywood execs (clueless) wanted to make sure that they appeared in subsequent films as well. That is why they were included in the films and had such prevalent roles, even though in the comics they didn’t have much to do with the story-lines they’ve been included in.

I’d be inclined to agree that it wouldn’t bother me if they never made another X-Men movie. Unless they can get it right, but I don’t think that will ever happen.

We have another X-Men movie and New Mutants coming. It will be interesting to see how they turn out. I’m not holding my breath.

      1. I’m convinced Hugh Jackman had to be fucking him or some other executive producer because he literally dominated all the Xmen movies. Those Austrailian men are not above “using what they got to get what they want” from what I’ve seen.

Jennifer Lawrence is the most overrated actress I think I’ve ever seen.

They don’t seem to get that comic book nerds could care less about big name actors, just cast actors that resemble the characters and do them justice.

I’ve never heard anyone say “I’m going to see X-Men for Jennifer Lawrence.”

I even thought Sophie Turner as young Jean Grey was dry and she is not attractive lol

  6. I am looking future to the future. Hopefully Marvel Studios will get back the film rights to X-men from Fox and be able to make an awesome X-men movie that the fans want. I want a dark skin, white hair, African accent, powerful storm not a watered down version of her.

  7. The thing is Shipp and Berry don’t have that commanding presence or grace and elegance that Storm possesses plus their acting abilities are a bad fit for the role. I always thought that aside from Angela Bassett ha Naomi Campbell would make a great Storm .

  8. @Christian & Mikey Kun

The good news for this film seems to be the acknowledgement that the Xmen are finally going cosmic. Based on what I’ve read, the writers will stick to the source material (unlike the sorry fuck Bryan Singer). They will use the
Lilandra – Empress of the Shi’ar Empire in this film. As you mnow, Lilandra is central to the Phoenix Saga. Which mens we will finally see extraterrestrials in the storyline.
My hopes aren’t high for the film but I’m intrigued nonetheless.

  9. X-men has been my favorite comic book characters for as long as I can remember but for me they only have 3 good movies. Men 1 &2 and Days of future past. Too be honest I feel like the movies series needs a hard reboot, the Phoenix Saga is one of if not the best x-men stories and the movie series has fucked it up so far.

The last x-men movie was trash and while it was cool the see the Phoenix teaser in it I was still wasn’t impressed. They need to get rid of Jennifer Lawrence as mystique ( Rebecca romain was much better), beef up storm’s role, and the graphics.

P.S. Favorite X-men in order : Storm, Jean Grey, Gambit, Bishop, and Emma Frost.

    1. It was THE best X-Men story, and the build up to it was awesome. Hollywood fucks up everything they touch, and the comic book movies are the ones that are taking the hits. The people dealing with them don’t know the stories, characters, universes, etc. It shows.

I agree Jennifer Lawrence sucks as Mystique. What’s even more annoying is that they are bringing back her character and Magneto, and NEITHER of them had ANYTHING to do with that storyline.

    2. @Mikey kun

agreed! The Phoenix Saga is up there with the best comic book storylines ever written. However I think it’s a mistake for Fox pictures to bring this saga to the big screen so soon. Lets face it, Phoenix Saga is about Jean Grey. But audiences were just reintroduced to the new Jean Grey. They know nothing about her as an individual, which means they have no connection nor empathy for her character. I’m see a failure to launch for this film unfortunately 😒

  10. Storm’s character (along with other Xmen) has been grossly mishandled by director Bryan Singer over the years. Storm is one of the most powerful Marvel mutants yet she gets second fiddle. Singer’s fucked up style of directing has ruined the Xmen franchise in my view. Apocalypse was a huge disappointment, and the other Xmen films were subpar. The good news is Xmen: Dark Phoenix will have a new director. But my hopes are dead for the Xmen franchise. I’m with DC now.

    1. I agree that Singer fucked up the X-Men movies. Too much emphasis on Wolverine and Hugh Jackman’s ass!
X2 was by far the best of the movies to me. In THAT movie we got a small taste of what the Storm character could do (tornado scene)…which was actually the best scene in the movie, along with the Nightcrawler’s White House attack.
I have no high hopes for any of the X-Men movies any longer.

      1. I have to disagree with the tornado scene being the best personally the ending with Jean holding the water, lifting the net, stopping nightcrawler from teleporting, and speaking through professor x was magnificent! Then she started to turn into flames. I especially love the subtlety of the silhouette of the bird flying over the water. It was he best scene in the franchise imo.

  11. Halle Berry was the original storm and in the Black Panther trailer, they had Angela Basset with white hair and try to say that she should be storm but the gag is she is not. So really, I rather see storm played by Angela Basset.

    1. Good eye I saw Angela in that trailer with the white dreads and was shook by how good it looked on her and how I’ve always wanted her to play the storm character but alas she’s playing BP mom in this movie.
