A federal judge Wednesday sentenced Jerry Harris, a former star of the Netflix documentary series “Cheer,” to 12 years in prison for coercing teenage boys to send him obscene photos and videos of themselves and soliciting sex from minors at cheerleading competitions.
U.S. District Judge Manish Shah also ordered that the sentence be followed by eight years of court-supervised release.
jerry released a statement to his victims:
“I am deeply sorry for all the trauma my abuse has caused you. I pray deep down that your suffering comes to an end. I’m not an evil person. I’m still learning who I am and what my purpose is. I regret my decisions and I am deeply sorry. All I can do going forward is to try to do better and be a better person. I do not deserve forgiveness, but I do pray that one day you might find it in your hearts.”

In years to come we will soon see a lot of the public play freaks will suffer the same fate. If you’ll have sex in front of kids for pleasure having sexual intercourse WITH kids ain’t far off. Especially with this generations fear of growing up. How many times do we see men 28 saying 30 is old like they not almost there themselves . The Peter Pan syndrome is what makes people think choosing younger partners revitalizes them. It’s a sickness
I never watched his show but I saw him on talk shows and entertainment shows.The whole situation is sad.
I’m praying for the boys he sexually abused, I hope that they are getting therapy. And if he is a survivor of sexual abuse I hope he gets therapy/counseling to lessen the likelihood he will be a repeat offender
Coincidentally I received another alert today about a registered sex offender in my area.There are literally dozens of them within a mile of me and most of them had sexual contact with a child.
