Addictions to My Phone, Volume Something

screen-shot-2015-12-10-at-3-53-40-pm

is your phone constantly in your paws?
does the thought of not checking your social media make you sick?
when does the withdrawal start if you don’t pick up your phone?
do you need to take a selfie every hour?

it’s not surprise we are addicted to our phones.
i often ask myself…

What did the animals do in the past?

when the only thing form of communication was a house phone.
i’m often baffled how everyone survived.

how did they find out movie times?
find out the reviews for restaurants?
 travel out of state?
 take pictures?
send nudes?

you mean to tell me they actually wrote letters?

ughi have a headache.

well i put my phone down last night and i had no urge to pick it up.
i had a few messages,
but i didn’t feel like responding.
i made a pact i would continue it for the rest of the weekend.
it’s getting hard.
honestly i’m trying not to be so dependent and always available.
my phone tends to distract me.
i hate having to always rush to answer something/someone also.
i just want to lay in my bed,
catch up on much needed sleep,
watch a few movies,
and binge on shows i missed this weekend…

…but the urge to know “what’s happening” has me feeling like a crackhead.

tumblr_npqjhriy9i1suda6jo1_500btw: my phone is on the other side of the room.
oh God!
am i addicted to my iPhone?
do i need some kind of 5 step plan?
this is so out of control.

lowkey: don’t judge.
i’m not the only one.

  1. I feel that people place so much importance on social media because they may feel that they are missing out on other people’s lives. They use these mediums such as Twitter and Instagram to gauge their attractiveness in the eyes of other people and gauge their popularity or to push an agenda. I observe and like, but I rarely post. I can do without a phone. Too much technology these days.

  2. I only check Instagram. Deleted Jackd ages ago and it was the best thing ever.

My phone is so dry I’m thinking about getting rid of it altogether to save money. Lol

  3. Yep, I will admit that I always have mine with me, whether it is someone texting me or I am browsing the net. I cannot take it in at work, but soon as I get out, I open the glove compartment and check my messages before I even start my car to leave lol. I guess I have a problem too.

  4. LOL. Yeah we had house phones, we found out movie times by picking up the newspaper or calling the theater, traveled out of state by train/plane/automobile, took pictures with a CAMERA, and wrote letters by HAND!
There are times I miss those days! People don’t communicate anymore. Everyone has their face in a phone, not watching their surroundings or where they’re walking. It’s sad and scary. People will actually have fits if they don’t have their phone with them or it’s not working. I once saw a girl literally crying because her phone wouldn’t work. It’s not that serious boo! LOL

I’m good with not answering my phone. Take it away from me and I’ll survive. I don’t post on Instagram or Facebook. Don’t take selfies (pointless when I can look in a mirror). Cellphones are a blessing and a curse. Blessing because they come in handy in unexpected situations, but a curse because people don’t know how to courteously use them in the presence of others. I don’t need to hear your conversation, nor does the entire train/bus! UGH!

  5. lol I’m not as bad with it but I tend to do a social media purge from time to time. I’ll delete Instagram, Tumblr, and snapchat just to give myself a refresh.

      1. It depends on my mood sometimes I keep them deleted for few weeks sometimes I’ll delete them until free time during the weekend. to be honest I think it really depends on what you’re following and who you’re following. just like you I’ve made no secret that I suffer from depression and at times seeing images of stuff, Nice bodies , or fabulous lifestyles tends to get to me at times so when I decide a break is needed I just take one.
