A Wonderful Question I Got On Tumblr

Thought I would share it and my response….

Anonymous: You ever thought about showing your face to your readers on your blog(s)? Big reason is there is a myth going around that the only really fine gay men are the ones not out. We see out men everywhere and rarely do we get one that is both fine and intelligent in one complete package on a scale that you are on. It would probably give a lot of inspiration to those that read to know that it is possible to be a handsome man and also be secure in your sexuality. Sure you can find a lot of fine white out gay men……but there arent as many black ones. Esp not on the caliber you are or the blogosphere. You may really hold a lot of power identifying yourself to them.

-Just a thought.

My Response:

I appreciate the question.
Now Wolves, Foxes, and Vixens let me ask you a question:

Is it wrong that I do not want to be the “savior” of the gay world?

I love my readers, love who pays attention, and I love who lurks but I’m not looking to change the world.
I am here to write and inspire those who can relate.
There are people in the world who come to my site to just agree with what I say, look at some gorgeous men, watch some porn, intrigued by me, or just bug out.
I’m like an entertainer of sorts.
Not everyone wants to take on that responsibility.
Not everyone wants to be dragged out the closet to wear “the cape”.
Not everyone wants to be “the voice”.
That isn’t my role in life.
My role is to create my own happiness in the journey I choose.
And if people choose me, Jamari Fox to live vicariously through: I take on that responsibility.
I am satisfied being who I am in the blogsphere.
I definitely made a dent with what I bring to the table.
When I make it to higher heights with this site, I will still want my privacy.
If I choose to meet anyone off this site, that would be my decision to reveal myself or not.

Is that wrong?

I notice when you are honest about the role you assume in this lifestyle, people take offense.
But then my question to them is:

You are huffin’ and puffin’… but why aren’t YOU doing it?

So let me know…

Alright so to this comment a nigga not out and I see a rack of Gay Dudes who are and work with some and they are extremely attractive and very intelligent, NOT taking away from your swag J. Fox but this appears to be someone who is pressed to see if you match there mental fantasy about what you may look like.

I’m honestly you already mentally sex every wolf, fox and vixen who reads your blog so why wouldn’t everyone want to see what you look like. Truth of the matter, this question is just away to subtly attempt to play on your male ego and let a nigga get a peak at what is Jamari Fox……good pimp game though

    1. …and they thought I was some dumb ass to fall for that kdan!
Jamari is from the concrete forest.
I put up with bs on a daily to not see that game…
      Lol

  2. Showing your face will take the emphasis off of what you say and put it on who you are in relation to what people assume you give based on the picture… if that makes sense lol

  3. I can see what they’re saying, but it’s all about your comfort level & what you wanna do with the blog…along with how much privacy you want to give up. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it *shrug*

  4. Have you ever noticed how a lemon is both sweet & bitter? Yet needed as a balance for things too sweet or too bitter. Reading your thoughts allows us to go through struggles, trials and tribulations, as well as victories and successes. The lemon brings out the best in the product, it’s used in. So do our trails & tribulations, victories & successes bring out the best in us. It also sometimes brings out the worst. Anonymous people often find rudeness easy on line whether commenting on an article they read and of course there in no comeback when you hide behind a pseudonym or a character and harsh words can be fired easily when no one knows or can see the “shooter.” But the end result is a window into others eyes and a product to make & shape into what you desire it to be. So no you do not need to show your face !
