Well Aunt Patti Allegedly Pulled Luther Out The Grave and The Closet Too

i wanted to font about the following as soon as i heard about it.
“friends” gotta stop pulling those out the closet so disrespectfully.
i don’t care how much others “know” either.
let that individual tell their story when they’re ready.
this all goes to one of the greatest vocalists of our time,
luther vandross.
luther never came out the closet during his time on earth,
but patti labelle allegedly confirmed it on “watch what happens live”.
yes.
aunt patti with the mouth.
peep how andy cohen got her…

andy…
something about him is sketch city to me.
i don’t get a good vibe from that one.
aunt patti should have known better tho.
i don’t know if it’s age or what,
but if that was her late “good friend”,
she could have kept his secrets to herself.
better yet,
watch when someone is trying to bait her into a confession.

Am I the one who finds vixens mostly do this?

don’t get me wrong,
some of the gays are guilty,
but vixens take the cake with this shit.
like,
they’ll “slip” and pull a friend out the closet in conversation.
yet,
they’ll want you to keep their secrets to yourself.
some vixens will start the witch hunt,
string our ass up on the nearest tree,
and say “well everyone knew” when you’re offend over it.

Well everyone doesn’t know you can’t close your damn legs…
or that you fucked your husband/boyfriend’s brother…
or you’re a major slut bag in these forests…
or some other triflin’ story they want to keep buried with the other bones.

sometimes i think most vixens,
and even some of the gays out here,
don’t use their brains.

lowkey: anyone private need to be careful who you share your secret with.
not everyone is supportive of you being low with being gay or bi.

  1. I don’t understand the anger. In my opinion, this just shows how most people feel toward homosexuality in general. Both straights AND gays alike look at it as shameful…how DARE Patti link such a beloved icon with the dreaded practice of homosexuality. Think about it folks. This is exactly why Luther didn’t tell y’all himself.

  2. What we NOT gone do is sit here and act like Patti outed Luther. SHE DIDN’T. This was known for YEARS. If anything, a 2006 article in the Advocate outed him: https://books.google.com/books?id=MGIEAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA60&dq=advocate+vandross&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi7xo6474DYAhUi5IMKHVaYCh0Q6AEISTAI#v=onepage&q=advocate%20vandross&f=false
Patti answered that question as respectfully as she could have without outright lying or saying ‘no comment.’ And there’s no reason for her to lie for him. Let Miss Patti live.

  3. Nah Patti was wrong for that. While his close friends and other folk knew for sure, It was not known publicly whatsoever. In the event of one’s death there should still remain an assemblance of privacy. If you are truly one’s friend the secret should remain with you no matter how much someone goaded you into discussing it. To be honest that was Luther’s truth to speak of, not anyone else’s. As much as one may think, or suspect that someone is gay, you don’t know for sure unless that person confirm’s it themselves or there’s a sex tape out there somewhere 😂😂😂

  4. Patti should not have said anything as his friend, BUT it’s been like an unspoken “secret” for years.
Luther was the “accepted” black gay man in the African American community. People knew or had an idea, but it was OK because he made great music…and many people created life to that music.

  5. I have a problem with this. There is some strong women hating vibes in this rant. Luther was gay. Not a murderer, drug dealer, rapist, scammer, etc. It is nothing that will tarnish his legacy. If we can allow Elton John to fly his flag and reach a certain platform, why do we stuff ours so far deep in the closet? I don’t believe Patti was slandering him as it is nothing to be ashamed about, just something he didn’t share with folks. Plus he is dead. MJ is still allowed to be a legend even after everything that happen before AND after his death

  6. Lmao, why are y’all acting like it’s a mark of shame? Some of y’all really display y’all deep shame/insecurities about your sexuality when you talk like that.

  7. @jamari… Andy can pretty much be summed up as a cockeyed, gay white devil! lol He is shifty….

    1. I saw him in a gay club in DC earlier this year. It was weird because I wouldn’t have expected him there without security and an announcement. Eventually, everyone realized who he was and started crowding him for pics. He looked so over it lol

      1. See, that couldn’t be me. I don’t go all crazy over celebs when I see them.
A lot of times, they have a look on their face like you’re bothering them. If you don’t want to be a celeb, and be “bothered” by the fans, quit doing what you do.

  8. Yeah. This wasn’t a secret. Many people knew he just didn’t feel the need to have everyone in his business like it should be. No one needs to know what sexual orientation you are. No one should care.

  9. My opinion….i ain’t mad at her, jus one of those situations that happen fast & you dnt have all the time in the world to consider every option, Andy set it up well, but i saw Patti be careful & respectful with her words, she didn’t just offer it up. That woman is however old & grown, she does not have time to be studdering and second guessing especially when ole shady boots (Andy) set it up like he was trying to have a genuine heart 2 heart conserning Luthers hiddin but well known “struggles”

  10. That’s exactly why I don’t tell people shit!

I take my secrets to the grave.

She even revealed it in a tacky setting on watch what happens with Andy’s lowkey messy ass.

Air your own self out about what you’ve done in your 50 year career because I’m sure there’s plenty of dirt.

  11. Damn Patti, that was Shady AF and Fck Andy C he is an old messy ass Queen who secretly desires to be a Black woman, he is always trying to stir up the pot especially with Black women. I havent heard him try to get the juice on old closeted white male celebs like John Travolta. Aretha and Diana would never and Patti you are from the old school and know better. She should have said he was a great artist and on to the next question. If Luther never told us, it is not Patti’s place 12 years after he is gone to do it. He still has living family members. Many of her Black Gay fan base is not too happy with her, I saw them dragging her on social media about this. I get messy out of Aunt Patti, she is like that Aunt who is fun and you love but you know you got to watch what you tell her because she is so damn messy. I wish Black women would stop going on this show and engaging Andy in his messy antics.

  12. Luther Vandross is not in the closet he is in a casket,he is dead.Dead people have no privacy. Many friends of celebs have confirmed they were gay after they were dead Elizabeth Taylor,Debbie Reynolds, etc have confirmed rumors about Rock Hudson and others. In that Whitney Hudson doc her friends pretty much confirmed she had a relationship with Robin Crawford.

Also we don’t know if Luther and Patti discussed this, if he would come out after his mother died.

There is a big difference in outing a person who is alive vs one who has been dead more than 12 years,IMO.And Wendy Williams needs to STFU criticizing Patti when her ass has outed dozens of celebrities who are still alive.

    1. ^well yc,
if you or the foxhole ever told me a secret of yours,
and God forbid you passed away,
i woudln’t share it with the world because you’re dead.
      if that’s the case,
anyone should talk “ill of the dead” since they’re dead.
if he shared it with aunt patti,
he didn’t share it with the rest of the ears as well.
      even in death.

      1. I have NO expectations that any secret I have told will remain a secret after I die.None.Nor will I care after I am dead.

Also like I said before we don’t know what Luther and Patti discussed regarding this issue.

Lastly I am bothered by this attitude people have as if she slandered him by confirming he was gay.She didn’t say he was a child molester or rapist so why are people acting like she did something malicious?

      2. I agree with YC, I’m not particularly bothered with what she said. She didn’t “speak ill” of him at all. She didn’t reveal anything that everyone didn’t know. Based off of everyone’s reaction, it wasn’t even speculative or rumors so… she didn’t slander him in any way. She probably should have not said anything, but we don’t know the type of conversations they had, or if some of the conflicts in his life have been resolved after death (if his mother came to terms with the truth).

  13. Luther would tell the children it was none of their fucking business. I’m disappointed in Patti putting something out there that one is unable to respond to or defend. It kinda reminds of her sharing the unfortunate incident of her being sexually assaulted by singer Jackie Wison in her book she wrote years ago. While the thought of being assaulted is horrible, when one makes the allegation, the other side should get a chance to be heard as well. Ijs

  14. There is no protection for the dead. The dead cannot claim slander. She was just telling the truth. Now if she would just tell her own truth…ooops!
