Tyler Perry Says You All Have A Case of “Reverse Racism”

tyler perry is an equal opportunity director.
he is.
he has done:

black church plays
black movies
black shows
mixed variety shows
all white shows

if you want to be in a tyler perry production then give him a call!
it don’t matter if you never acted a day in your lives!
if you look like ig attentionisto,
^brock o’hurn,
then you’ll get the job.
as well as other actresses and church play stand ins.
well tyler is facing  a dragging about one of his shows because it’s a white out.
it’s called “too close to home” in which brock stars in.
tyler calls it “reversed racism”.
this is what he say to the washington times

Tyler Perry is known for creating opportunities for black actors. But recently the African-American filmmaker weathered a backlash for assembling an all-white starring cast for the TLC drama series “Too Close to Home.”

Perry rejects the criticism.

“That’s totally reverse racism, because it was coming from African-American people,” said Perry, speaking from his Atlanta studio. “I don’t know if it was because they thought I should only be giving jobs to black people. Well, I think that’s ridiculous.”

These days, Perry says, he’s more color-blind than ever from years traveling amid many cultures: “I’m just finding out more as I travel the country and world, the more I meet people, we’re all the same.”

see it’s that last sentence
…that is the one that’ll get him dragged.
hell the whole thing seems like a violation.
isn’t his main fan base blacks?
especially church blacks?
even though i’ve never heard of this show,
tyler wants to make more money.
it is what it is.
he hired an obvious snow wolf eye candy with no acting experience for the show.

…and i’m sure everyone thanks him.
it helps to have something nice to look at to ignore what’s wrong.
i will say with shows like “queen sugar” and “greenleaf”,
he is the weakest link.

lowkey: i saw the trailers for “hahn” coming out.
i see wyatt is alive.
smh.

same ol same ol.
until he gets his writing together,
i’m done.

  1. Prejudice is when a person negatively pre-judges another person or group without getting to know the beliefs, thoughts, and feelings behind their words and actions. A person of any racial group can be prejudiced towards a person of any other racial group. There is no power dynamic involved. , whereas RACISM the system that allows the racial group that’s already in power to retain power. Since arriving on U.S. soil white people have used their power to create preferential access to survival resources (housing, education, jobs, food, health, legal protection, etc.) for white people while simultaneously impeding people of color’s access to these same resources.Though “reverse racism” is a term I sometimes hear, it has never existed in America. White people are the only racial group to have ever established and retained power in the United States- Debby Irving, Racial Justice Educator/Writer.

Tyler Perry BOOM there it is

  2. Okay Tyler Perry, don’t tell me that your ready to start the cooning train. To be honest I don’t think his shows are going to last too much longer on the OWN network. I am ready to watch The Have and The Have Nots but the dragged out scenes has been getting on my nerves since day one. Hell all his shows are dragged out. It’s a trend that he puts nice looking muscular men on his shows that can’t act their way out of a paper bag, but I’m here for it. I been working out in the gym the last few years and I have got my body the way I want it, so I guess I’m going to move to Atlanta and audition shirtless so I can get a role on one of his shows.

  3. He’s going to put his foot in his mouth, he should know better than to speak that recklessly. People were already questioning his motives.
It never fails to happen, they get into this industry then become color blind and oblivious. I’d be shocked if most snow animals even understood some of the humor in his work.

  4. Based on the above, it can be argued that Tyler Perry wants to take from the poorest (his tribe, blacks and African Americans) and give to the richer–the richer tribes–Asian Americans, Latinos/Hispanics and whites. Robin Hood is reverse.

We can get up from slavery and Jim Crow, but we have to WORK for it. It won’t come down from the sky like manna from heaven. No one can or will give it to us or do it for us. We won’t trip over it or find it on the sidewalk. It will not be found by accident or by current activities. Working for it means that we must 1. REASON TOGETHER and 2. COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY TOGETHER and 3. WORK TOGETHER. If we cannot or will not or refuse to 1. REASON TOGETHER and 2. COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY TOGETHER and 3. WORK TOGETHER, then we will not and cannot get up from slavery and Jim Crow and the next 400 years will be like the last 400 years—or worse.

Did Tyler Perry flunk one, two or three of the above necessities? We need all three! From the above, it appears clear that he flunked at least one, perhaps two and possibly three of the above necessities. Thank you, Tyler Perry for resigning us to the next 400 years being like the last 400 years–or worse.

  5. From the above:

“That’s totally reverse racism, because it was coming from African-American people,” said Perry, speaking from his Atlanta studio. “I don’t know if it was because they thought I should only be giving jobs to black people. Well, I think that’s ridiculous.”

These days, Perry says, he’s more color-blind than ever from years traveling amid many cultures: “I’m just finding out more as I travel the country and world, the more I meet people, we’re all the same.”

I think that he should strive to be a entertainment mogul for all–not just for blacks and not just for African Americans so that entails hiring whites and having “white casts”. That’s fine and even good–just as long as he understands and discharges his responsibilities blacks and African Americans–his tribe. But it appears that he does not intend to understand and discharge that responsibility, and that he doesn’t note that “everyone” is not related by blood and history and culture to him and that “everyone” didn’t endure 250 years of chattle slavery and 100 years of Jim Crow and that the below cannot be said about “everyone”:

    • The black unemployment rate is 11.4 percent in August 2014. (And it’s consistently about twice the average national unemployment rate. For example, In February 2015, the unemployment rate for African-Americans was 10.4 percent, while the comparable rates for whites, Hispanics and Asians were 4.7 percent, 6.6 percent and 4.0 percent, in that order, according to data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
    • Current black life expectancy in the US at birth is 74.6 years for blacks, vs. 78.9 years for whites, 82.8 years for Latinos and 86.5 years for Asian Americans.
    • Current median household income in 2012: $68,636 for Asian Americans, $57,009 for white Americans, $39,005 for Hispanic Americans and $33,321 for Black Americans (less than half of that for Asian Americans).
    • Black income is about 1.1 trillion dollars from a national income of about 17 trillion dollars. Blacks have 13% of the US population but only about 6.5% of the income (which alone goes a long way to explain the high poverty and high incarceration rates)
    • Among racial and ethnic groups, African Americans had the highest poverty rate, 27.4 percent, followed by Hispanics at 26.6 percent and whites at 9.9 percent. 45.8 percent of young black children (under age 6) live in poverty, compared to 14.5 percent of white children.
    • 1/3 of black men between the ages of 20 and 30 are in prison, probation, jail or parole.
    • “An estimated one-third of black male Americans will spend time in state or federal prison at some point in their lifetime—more than double the rate from the 1970s and more over five times the rate for white males.”–The Brookings Institute.
    • Black apathy and complacency are rampant and widespread. It’s more than apathetic. It’s pathetic. http://urbanintellectuals.com/2014/04/03/black-community-want-work-solutions-just-bitch-problems/

“Tyler Perry, if you’re not a part of the solution, then you’re part of the problem.”

  6. Well I am so happy Tyler is creating shows with all White casts.God knows they don’t have enough acting opportunities.Whites make up about 60 percent of the US population but on some networks only make up 79 percent of the acting roles. They need more work.God Bless Tyler
