so i spent these last two days on lazy mode.
my job literally wears me out so any chance of rest i definitely take it.
in between resting,
and doing absolutely nothing,
i was recommended from the foxhole to watch “greenleaf on own.
it is a show created by craig wright,
and executive produced by oprah winfrey.
here is a quick break down of the plot:
“The Greenleaf family, which runs sprawling Memphis megachurch Calvary Fellowship World Ministries, appears to be a loving and caring clan. Beneath the surface, though, exists scandalous secrets and lies. Greed, adultery and sibling rivalry are among the issues that threaten to test the family’s faith and tear the group apart. The scandalous happenings are uncovered by Grace, the estranged daughter of church leader Bishop James Greenleaf, when she returns home after a 20-year absence.”

i just finished episode 3.
“greenleaf” basically washed tyler perry’s “church drama” themed programming.
the writing is excellent,
the plot is pretty deep,
and the acting is superb.
there also isn’t a lot of wolf meat to distract us.
some quick thoughts:
– sex with the side hoe during sunday service in the church!!!!
– no doubt in my mind one of the husbands is on the dl
– the molestation allegations by that creepy ass jackal
– this bad ass cub taking the lead’s daughter down the path of hell
more!!!!
i want more!!!!
i don’t want to give too much away,
but i’ll be tuning in regularly.
this is how a show needs to be.
Oprah had to show Tyler how it’s done

Lowkey, I hope this causes some changes in “The Haves and The Have Nots”, if not, I will no longer be a viewer.
The character Lynn Whitfield is playing, Lady Mae, gives me every bit of life. She is a mean ol’ thing. The way she read tired behind Kerissa had me dead. I also like Oprah’s character. That wig she is wearing is a totally different story, however. The main character, Grace Greenleaf, she is working as well. I find her to have such a beautifully structured face and a stoic presence on screen. Her ex love interest on the show, the guy who played on Noah’s Arc, I could do without the heavy beard.
This is great drama. I think anything Oprah puts her name on will be worth a look. Tyler Perry needs a lesson and got it.
Love the show, Lamman Rucker is one of the most underrated black actors and Lynn Whitfield is one of the best to ever do it. My only problem are the two wives look like they are 20 years older than their husbands

I knew you would love it. Oprah is not playing, and expect her not to filter her scenes like Tyler does.
That uncle just creeps me out. I knew something was up with him after watching the first episode. He has been molesting girls for decades and still is.
Yea, Kevin is on the downlow. How about when the girls clocked him when he was singing? He got off that stage quick lol. My problem is that his possible male love interest is could look better. You could tell he was not in the best shape through his clothes.
Do not get me started on Kerissa, she is a handful. I see why Jacob is sleeping with that church secretary. SMH

Wasn’t it good? I binged last week. It’s like Oprah was discussing it with Tyler and he got excited and said something like “Oh my Gosh! Then I can get so and so to play the lead and so and so can…” Then Oprah grabbed his hand and said “Thanks sis. But I’m going with another director, casting director, cast, writers” In my head.
