  1. I know everybody is hyped to see this film. I am too! There Is mad weird shit going on and I want my people safe. If you gonna see the movie, see it at an irregular time, like Tuesday morning at 9a. It would be easy for someone to come into the theater to do harm to an audience of black people seeing a movie about Black Excellence. I’m not being paranoid, its just been on my mind sonce the movie’s been announced. BE SAFE.

    1. Smart thinking. These days folks like to wait and plan things based on when people gather for certain events. If they shooting up churches, clubs and schools with blacks and whites, movie theaters are easy pickings (& they’ve went there too…Dark Knight massacre anyone??).

It’s gloomy and a wack job can just walk in & light everyone up that’s in there. I’m pretty sure the experts say the chances are slim and they probably are but good thinking anyways. Always be alert. Folks these days have NO regards for human life and sometimes society is so into their own little bubbles, they fail to pay attention to the dangers around them and recognize the signs and patterns.

I’ll wait til it comes out or stream it. I never went out that much but now I definitely am picky about what I go to. These days with Netflix and other streaming services, there is no need for me to go to the movies or wait for anything I can see at my own place.

  2. still hyped for this film

p.s. every time I see pictures of Angela Basset in this movie I keep wishing she played the part of storm in the Z

      1. I’m right there with you!! It’s definitely bittersweet for me to see this movie because for the longest I wanted Angela Basset to be Storm. She was born to play that role just like Michelle Phfiffer was for Catwoman who still to this day has been unmatched

  3. I am sooo tired of all these superhero films coming out. I wish this trend would hurry and burn out but if I know any better…it won’t.

I do like the idea of a poster saying about more fantasy films; since I love “Pure Fantasy” films. Superhero films have those good fresh releases and then die down after the next few sequels… Until they fish for something else to bait others with.

After that trash Guardians of the Galaxy 2 came out..I’m just like aren’t people tired of this?

However, the Black Panther movie looks like it’s gathering momentum and looks like a nice film (though if I know any better, they are cleverly marketing this film to black consumers in the right ways). It looks pretty stylish tho and I’m really interested in Angela Basset. Ive been waiting for her to appear in a superhero film of the past. I think she would make a much better Storm than Halle ever would.

That whole materialize suit thing is very Power Ranger reboot-esque. The car scenes, Fast and the Furious-esque. In fact. I am hoping that this movie is fleshed out properly and not rushed and full of pompous CGI. I keep an open eye with Superhero films.

We definitely don’t want this to be another Catwoman movie. You know the black hero (Halle Berry) vs the Evil White Person (Sharon Stone) with a stringy plot, questionable CGI but nice looking trailers.

Don’t mind my rant too much. I’m a cinema snob sometimes (was a Film Major in college). 😕

In fact, I think the movie may be okay. The main actor is good looking, beautiful dark skin, and Interesting man in real life. I just don’t know what’s in the script to make it good exactly. I don’t go by trailers because if you pay attention to films you know that some scenes in trailers are not in movies. Sometimes it’s bonus material or it was made just for the trailer to attract the eyes.

The only character I don’t like is Micheal B. He should be recasted for John Boyega who is more appealing, better looking, and is fresh.

The one thing that has me goggly eyed about this movie so far is the cinematography. The imagery has been so surreal to my eyes. It entices me. I picked this interest up when I was younger from Ridley’s Scott’s film Legend starting a young Tom Cruise. The scenery of that film is gorgeous to be so old. 😍

  4. They all look good. This movie is going to be good. I’ll watch it as a fan of fantasy and superhero movies and tv shows. However, some PRO whacks will fuck up the experience for me.

      1. That is true. I think there was an article about how sci-fi/fantasy films are keeping African Americans out or whatever, but I say this, “we’ve been in those type of films, but never had a major all African American cast.” So with that said, I’m here for “Black Panther” and any future movies within the franchise. Also, I want to see if Black Panther can join the avengers in future installments.
